Watching Paint Dry

Is it sculpted or unique placement of bark. I love the way it adds verticality to the piece.
It's Bark.

Awhile ago I did workshops on using both Bark and Plaster combined with Water Soluble Oils to get a more "Accurate" depiction of rocks.
(Having been a rock climber, when my waistline was smaller, I'm quite familiar with how rock can look up close and personal.)

Retired my &***

No not sitting doing nothing, been working on the Forgeworld Eldar Titan, which has been a pain having been stripped, repaired, repainted and then neglected for the last year or two.
The Torso is "Complete" all I'm working on now is the FreeHand patterning, this photo is this mornings effort.
I'm only going to be working on one leg at a time now as its BLOODY heavy.

When I read your text regarding the pic I unintendedly skipped the word eldar, and I thought it was a leg of that monstrous marine robot that I've seen a lot of times. Then I saw the pic and though... well this looks more like an eldar*ish pattern.... then reread the text only to found the word eldar ^^'

In any case, I like the ivy-like pattern, and its colours are great too, great pulse on it since it is really crisp!

Done a little bit more, so thought I'd let you see before I collapse gibbering on the sofa.

Just put the Farseer in as a size comparison.

Seriously though, if anyone's considering buying one of these Titan's you better be good with the airbrush.
Put the basecoat paint on before you assemble, invest in a FudgeTonne of brass rod for pinning and expect to find quite a few Flaws.

I always knew you could paint but I never knew you could paint!!! :/ I have no idea what I'm trying to say but I think you understand. This is phenomenal and will be even more so when fully done!!! Now go call the men in white cause gibberish while frothing I think falls into their job description!!!

Holy hells in a handbag batman! That's one helluva big model. The freehand details look pretty awesome so far DR. Now go and have a cup of tea before the men in white coats come calling.

Way to go trying something really different, DR. I always support the ludicrously ambitious... which this is! Keep it up.

Yep one big piece of a kit.
......and I'm NEVER gonna be that stupid to take one of these one again.

Water Lillies are "relatively easy" (*) to paint freehand so there will be a repeated motif throughout the figure.
Roses on the shoulder pads, Fuschia's and Ivy on the legs.
Beil-Tann theme, yeah should have stuck to Jessica.

(*Relatively easy, yeah , right!)

I think this Eldar titan has been corrupted by Wood Elf savages.

Lovely work, only a couple more square meters yet to cover... :p

Wonderful illuminated script feel to this...looking forward to seeing the full effect on a model that size.
