Trying to to paint an even series of curves?
Well here's a trade secret for anyone planning Beil-Tann, cut a template out of thin styrene sheet and use a thin pencil to make guide marks.
Saves a lot of swearing........

I learn by my mistakes. (Well I've made enough to have earned a PhD by now!)

After a hiatus I'm back painting the Titan.
This is two days work on the head.

EDIT:- Damn but those pictures are big!
So there is still work to be done on the foreheads Jewel and on the rear of the "Tail flare".
In addition a coat of Dullcoate is going on this before the gloss goes on the gems.
(Damned if I'm going to risk scratching what I've already painted.)

You know this is what I've termed a "level up mini" . This is amassing amount of talent and display of patience and hard work. I love it Mike.

This the rear skirt plate that I've worked on alongside the head. Roughly 2x2 inches.

Here's a guide to how to do vine lines........DON'T.

Just joking, my trick is to take a slotabase and with a fine saw cut in two running the saw blade against the slot walls. (I used round edged version)
That gives you two curve templates of different sizes, place BLU-TACK in the underside and with a fine propelling or technical pencil draw around the curved edge.
Rotate and repeat until you've completed the line you want.
Any slip up pencil lines can be tidied up with a putty rubber/general eraser.
Carefully Paint over the lines with thin paint, repeat as needed.

Looking great, DR. Doing a titan is a major undertaking. Doing freehand all over a titan is something else altogether. What you've shown so far is beautiful work. I can't wait to see the whole thing!

Thank you Dave. From you that IS a great compliment.....and yes it is something else altogether.
I'm going to be taking a holiday after this in a nice room with soft walls and wearing this fetching jacket that fastens behind me.

Joking aside, this is one of the first Eldar Titans produced and had lots of flaws in it, embedded hair, thumbprint in the resin, several warped pieces, moulding lines up the Wazzoo and I'm still of the opinion that it's an unnecessarily complex design. (aka A Right Bastard)

Wow, that are some serious good looking free hands!!! And then there are still people who say miniature painting isn't art. Now I can show them some pics of your robot/knight to convince them it is.

Hoping your sanity will be ok..... because all this vines are madness I wouldn't have the guts to paint all this craziness!!
On the other hand you are obtaining a really clean and precise work! wishing to see it with all the parts glued in place ^^

Close to seven an a half hours today to get these bits done.
The White Over shoulder pads required a strip back with a "Magic sponge" cleaning gizmo my wife has as I screwed up the initial lines.
She really saved my bacon there, thought I was going to have to dump them in Dettol again.
The shape's awkward to say the least.
The smaller inner shoulder pads, well you might recognise a touch of Muscha in the style, yes that was deliberate.

This bottom pic makes it look like the leg is life (human) sized.

Nice detail ail painting there...
