My friend - Marek (on cmon;) is a mini sculptor. He was just a happy man until he met Mick from eastern front studios.
He sculpted some models for him , and shipped them to this mike. Mike paid for the first models , but Marek didn\'t see any money for the next sculpts...
Eastern front studios won\'t answer any emails , nor contact anybody (at least concerning payments).

Either way pls be careful with this rat , don\'t get yourself cheated.

My friend from the US is an attorney and we\'ll try to get Marek\'s money in legal way now.

Here\'s the cheater\'s website!

Hmm... I thought Mick had squared out all his debts. Worked with paying half up front and all that by now. I haven\'t worked for him for a while now so I can\'t talk out of experience. Granted Mick ain\'t the fastest one I know, nor had the smoothest transactions back then (I worked from him after EFS had just started, so in the very beginning). But I thought he had bettered his ways by now, though ofcourse I can\'t say for sure (his word against the other, various stories). (Not that all goes smoothly. Apparently the post is against us now as a package which took a while to send to me was lost in the mail. Waiting for resends at the moment.)

Hash,
I do know Marek we had a parting of the ways due to some payment issues..poland doesnt have paypal and before we were paying through our pal Pete the mighty at Sacred Blade as he was working with Marek also. I do still owe marek for a minotaur thats true enuff but we decided to let him keep a balrog because it was not like the concept..pose and wings wise..I havent heard from marek in a long while if he wants to contact me thats fine as we are now all about dealing as fairly and fastly as we can now ..so that said have marek email me if you can.

Well done Mick. That was a very measured responseto such a post. My comment was not going to be anywhere near as nice!:)

I would advise any sculptor to get a 50% upfront payment with any company. Especially first sculpts for them.

yes we do normally pay the sculptors with experience under their belt half up front now..but new sculptors you need to test to see if they will be.. serious... do a castable mini..... follow the concept if its part of the agreement unless its a freeform..hope the first miniatures have proper wire..thicknesses..scale..and every mini we have come in needs something fixed almost every time even from the pros..mainly feet for some reason LOL.

I would check with local laws on that.
I\'m not sure it applies to commission art work, but in Maryland a contractor is generally not permitted to ask more than 30% up front.

In the last issue of the Harbinger magazine, a number of greens from EFS were printed in the news section, and Zygore (a colleague of mine) was rather pleased to see three of his greens there.

Yes, PayPal is an issue in South Africa because it cannot be used to receive payments. But surely some other arrangement can be made to pay for those greens, Mick?

This seems to be something that should be handled in e-mail or anywhere else, other than the public forum...
