water colors

As washes water colours could be diluted and used nicely but as for over all mini painting the type of pigment isn\'t really suitable.
Watercolours are intended to dry about 50% lighter than when wet so colour matching for minis could be a problem. Plus the coverage is different, in that with water colours you normally paint Dark over Light and not the reverse as we do with Acrylics.

Einion will be able to give you a much better answer on this.

:)

Watercolours are made to be transparent, while there\'s no reason not to use them in modelling (I\'ve done a bit of weathering with them myself) they wouldn\'t be the thing to use for entirely painting something for this reason alone.

But they also don\'t dry waterproof - a gentle touch with a dampened brush can lift dry watercolour. You can imagine how this might be a problem.

BEWARE!! One thing about watercolors (some, not all, ask at your local artstore) is that they can fade DRAMATICALLY and very quickly. I had some that were in direct sun fade A LOT in just one day. Ask at your art store for the \'colorfastness\' rating. There is a number on each tube that indicates how it holds up in light.

Hate to see you go to a bunch of work and have it simply go \'poof\'.
