Water Colours 2

Here is the next nearly finished piece, a Cornish Piskie, based on a Brian Froud painting with a change or two and a little drunk on cider. It's A5 in size and this is a little darker than the actual colours - at least on my screen lol. A few details to add - some pasty crumbs, the details on the other side of the face and leg and a tidy up and then it shall be done and onto the next....

Well I am a great lover of 2000AD but first I will follow more traditional fantasy art in watercolour type routes. I will be doing a lot of copying of images I like, if I can twist it I will but copying will help me learn and save on designing characters and scenes etc. Here is a link to the brian froud original of my Piskie....

Brian Froud is amazing to me, not only for the work he did with Jim Henson which I enjoyed as a kid - Labyrinth, Dark Crystal etc, but because he captures the spirit of fairies, goblins, trolls and woodland spirits etc perfectly to match my imagination. His mrs designed Yoda as well and his son was the baby in Labyrinth. Love the guys art. And I will be copying more. The Piskie is all finished, I'll take a pic over the next few days, not much in the way of change. The next one has already started to take shape....

Thanks Ischa!! The poems are in my "notes" section of my wall mate, not just the post you are referring to - but there are many more on my blog! There are also some unreleased ones I have shared with a couple of select friends. Plenty of them kicking about though. Some I am proud of, some are okay! Maybe I will get creative and do an entry for GDUK 2013, I have booked the weekend off. I have the ideas in my head, but once again I am thwarted by a shitty personal life, family death and two family members having cancer, one terminal. So bigger things to worry about really. It wont be a good year for our family.

I hope you will be coming to the UK again this year in September with some entries!!
