Water Colours 4

You ever think about using the salt technique for easier speckled texture? It'd be perfect for the mushrooms, but only problem is it's kinda of random. Looking good so far! Are you doing anything for the background? I know I keep doing white and it's hard to break out of.

Hey Chrispy. the background will be complimentary simple blended colours. I am avoiding backgrounds at the moment as I wish to focus on characters and faces. Then move onto scenics etc. Art doesnt come easy to me, so self teaching at a steady pace... I have heard of that salt technique , but have not tried anything unusual technique wise yet.....

The salt technique is super easy: throw salt on a very wet watercolor.

As I said, results are kinda random and even I'm still working with it, but it creates an interesting effect.

Very good painter. I love Arthur Rackham to, but prefer Frouds own stuff tbh. For me at the moment though I guess its just getting stuff done and practicing.

Roger Dean was really hot when I was a wee-little-teen. I think some of it was watercolor and some gouache. That was back when the album cover artwork was really important. I think this guy's stuff is spectacular.

HELL YES Roger Dean helped put "Fantasy Art" in the public mind.
Its just a pity that some of the music fell somewhat short of the Artwork.

Ah memories of the early 70's.
BUGGER I could have done without THAT Memory!
