Watered Down Paint and Gold and Copper SE-NMM

I know both these topics have been flogged by a dead horse but I am still uncertain on both:

How much does everyone water down their paints? (if at all)
* Imagine you stick your paint brush into a GW or Vallejo paint pot and put two dollops on your pallette. Using the same brush how many \'dollops\' of water do you put in the paint? I typically put mine in my water cup (twice) and let it drip once into the paint. Is this the right way to go?

Second question: does anyone have definitive Gold and Copper SE-NMM techniques they can direct me to using GW paints? I know there are plenty on CMON but maybe people could put it better in their own words? - i\'m trying to paint a gold sword hilt and copper bracelets on my ogres.

as for how much i water down i tend to do the same... depends how much u want it watered tho and what ur doing...

for sky earth NMM what i did was mixed brown with silver, blending it with more silver towards the middle then i mixed blue with silver blending more silver towards middle... seemed to work well for me (doesnt show well on my pic tho )

Magic wash
3 parts water 1 part Future floor wax.
Paint water down like koolaid Vallejo has a dropper and I put my magic wash in a dropper by reaper so I measure accordingly. different things take different dilutions I know that does not help but there is not one true rate IMHO for all things.

For mixing I use an eye dropper. I have a brush (old and tattered) that will drip approx. one drop of paint, then I use the dropper respectivly with water. I always go one to one for base coats, One to 2 or 3 to for highlighting / blending.

One to four for layering ..black to green on a sword as an example.

Welcome to the forums Daz.
As to your question well there is no \"right\" or \"wrong\" way to dilute paints. We each find the way that works best for us.
Personally I use a combination of GW paints and Vallejo\'s which I initially dilute by adding the same amount of water as I have paint. To this I add one GW standard brush dipped in Winsor & Newton Flow Improver mixed in. Then after washing out the brush, the same amount of Liqutex Drying Retarder.
After that I add water as I go, depending on how the coverage is going and the effect I\'m after.
