Hello again CMON team, very sorry that I have not been punctual with updates on projects again after promising to be a good member ....

This figure which I\'ve tried to do a more \"mini\" look to.

A classic pose for Night Stalker Fever!

Next the quick, quick paint run through all with a brush is Gaia Notes Pure Black (Gloss) base, Jedeite Grey from the Gaia Notes Ma.K set;

Silent Grey from Gaia Notes Ma.K set;

Mr. Color RLM66 Black Grey

Lastly Mr. Color RLM75 Gray Violet to bring it back to together. Red sections are base of Mr. Color Brown and then wet mixed with Gaia Notes Monkey Rose from the Ma.K set;

Looks a little better than I feared part way through and the basic color coat stage is done, no real highlights nor weathering yet which will come next after the decals.

Thanks for looking,

that\'s quite alright freakinacage and I don\'t disagree, that top color is pretty cool and I think I will do another in that scheme next time.

This time however I am kind of locked in with doing the boxtop version which is a dark grey.

Please do keep watching though, might just grow on you. ;)

It\'s growing on me!

But, I do like that first color scheme as well...

Keep us posted, this is a good WIP to follow!

Is the right hand supposed to be in some sort of power glove, or is it a mechanical prostetic? I ask because, if it\'s supposed to be a power glove, then the wrist join needs to be built up. If it\'s a prostetic, then it\'s awesome as is.

cheers supervike and yes, that first color must be re-visited just for you guys!

Thanks CreganTur, the \"hands\" are more a prosthetic with the occupant\'s (victim?) hands ending in the suits forearms.

I do agree with you too and have slightly built it up and the other joints now. In the form seen here, it actually builds to be fully articulated with PE joints. Great for figuring out a pose and then setting I guess.

Cheers,

Next up, Decals! Burn our your Retina Red Decals! They looked like they are PhotoShopped in but that\'s them as from the sheet. Yikes!

I’ve added a few more than what the instructions suggest but as the color scheme is both dark and bland - I know it’s a stealth suit!- I figured it could do with a little more visual detail. Both the red and off-white smaller decals are excellent, very subdued but these large red ones seem a little harsh so I’ve painted them in as per the ID colors.

The decals were applied straight over the semi-gloss finish of the Gaia Notes and Mr. Color paints. After letting them dry for probably not long enough I’ve sealed them with a very quick sweep of Mr. Color Super Clear Semi-Gloss and then once dry (30 mins is probably not enough again but I have no patience.), painted over the large decals with the ID band color and highlighted both them and the main bands with a yellow pink, then lightly gone over the model in strategic points with some 400 grit sandpaper, very lightly.

To randomize the finish a little more I’ve painted a couple of panels in Silent Grey again from Gaia Notes and very light added a little of Jedeite Grey as well because it was right next to the other color and I wanted to see what happened. Looks ok! I was planning on mixing in some light blue to highlight the grey but the green-grey looks alright and counter colors the Monkey Rose nicely.

On to progress;

In no way, shape nor form has the release of HALO ODST slowed down my progress on this project… Wow it’s a good game!

Still taking photos of the in between shots but as way of a real time update, this is where I am now.

Need to save this place from too much spam!

I started to really like this suit and project so have put a little more effort into it. I puttied up the joints and fixed the pose and have worked to make the “night grey” interesting and with plenty of color variation. I guess I’m a little influenced by the Tau project and it’s a little more technical, bright and colorful this time. So be it! Leg pipes I will show the Hasegawa Masking Fluid cover on.

The figure is basically done except the optics and will do them at the same time as the optics on the suit. “He’s” painted with Vallejo Acrylics and I’ve kept it relatively dark as to be seen inside the helmet, not out in the open like this. Plus it\'s not by DWartist... sorry! :\'(

Base is made from 5mm foamboard and I’ve tested it with different textures to see how it looks. I really like the milliput mud/earth so will do another layer to set the feet into.

Thanks for looking,

All done, well as much as I could stand before wanting to do another one! This time I used the Power Coils on the legs as supplied in the kit and base coated them with Hasegawa Masking Fluid, the orange one. Leaving it to dry overnight it accepted a coat of Vallejo Panzer Aces Track Primer and so far so good, has not flaked off at all. Pipes were added to the arms, laser and lower legs with 0.8mm plastic coated wire and blended into the model with some of the base coat colors and then the pigments being used on the base. Milliput for the earth under the suits feet and painted with Vallejo Model Color US Field Drab, drybrushed Tamiya Enamel Buff and then washed with various Mig Production Pigments suspended in Mr. Hobby Color acrylic thinner, main colors used to keep the red tone were Industrial City Dirt and Gulf War Sand. I’ve also worked to light the model a little better and obtain a more accurate photo for the colors present.

Lin.K

P.S. wonder what I do now here... Will hunt around for both \"finished\" and put it up in the main gallery and link to it shortly, thanks again for all the views!
