well heres the pilot for my wave serpent. i dont have pics of the serpent itselfe however it is currently in the main peices and completely black. i will be airbrushing it with random swirls of dark purple, dark aqua, and dark blue. i will then b putting random dots of white like stars and hopefully gain a nebula looking effect. if any 1 has tips for acheiving this it would be apreciated. for now heres the pilot in the cockpit. went for a green OSL coming from the controll pannel

here are some pips for the OSL.

tip one:the OSL are never brighter or as bright as the source...

tip two: paint the whole mini the without OSL... then you Glaze the OSL with very very watered down paint, add a tiny drop washing-up soap to that.

tip three: if you want the whole model to be affekted by this OSL, you should paint a very bright source, and the closer to the source the brighter shall the effekt be...

I hope that helps :)

Larre has hit the nail on the head there, I hope you don\'t mind but I have been working on a very similar project for a commission. Here are my photo\'s hope they help!

There are some examples of the OSL, the screen is the brightest area, and the glow gets darker the further away from the screen the bits of the pilot are.
Also bear in mind the 2 targeting devices infront of the pilots face- Are these going to be a light source too? if so the same would apply.

At present these are the only photo\'s I have showing the starry sky effect (I was focussing on where the dullcoat \'leeched\' the purple into the angels flesh rather that the stars)

Hope this has been useful, I feel your monitors need to be much brighter to make the OSL more realistic.

This is very gentle OSL and not very good angle but you can check this

and some more pictures here

So my take on this is that you well get this extreme green OSL only during the night when there is no OTHER source of light but electronics inside, otherwise light from above will still be you main source

I like the hazy blendyness.

Looks good.

The OSL on the other hand, doesn\'t look as good. Just looks like it has a green pilot.
