I definitely know that one.
My real first name is Ahijah. (and no I am not from the Middle East. My family is a conglomeration of English, Irish and Dutch.)
I literally have training certificates on my wall at work that were misspelled with:
Anijah
Abijah
Elijah
Ahisah
and my favorite....
Aheehaw
lol
Ohh and before anyone asks, its a name from the Bible.
And yes, my last name IS Adams

Chirspi ... I mean, Chryspie :p ...
Believe me, the list you\'ve presented us with is not the worst case. Here in Russia people tend to twist names in ways you wouldn\'t believe. Like, Vladimir becomes Vovan, Alexey -- Lyokha, Ekaterina -- Katyusha and so on. :D
Luckily enough my name is no subject for such variations :)

I knew a fellow named Rocky Rhodes, another named Harry Palmer, several with the last name of Dick/Dyck, (my favourite of those being Tom), and a very nice guy named \'Tim\' Hung Phuc...

Things could always be worse...

My mother in law use to tell of two girls she went to school with in the 30s Ima and Ura, last name, Hogg! Don\'t know if it was true or is she was pulling our collective legs, but.... I would hate to think of the dear departed woman as a liar.

True, actually. IIRC the Hogg family, very wealthy and from the Houston, Texas area. In fact, the will stipulated that if they changed their names, the girls would not inherit. The cruelty of parents.

Edit: Found a website about Ima.

I knew a fellow named Gary Shot. No big deal, but it turned out his middle name was Audobon. So Gary Audobon Shot....poor fellow.

Iowa (my home state) had a female track star back in the 70\'s named Fonda Dix. I tried to do a search of this name, and came up with this....

Not dirty names..as such..

Perhaps the funniest goof ever broadcast by the BBC was during live coverage of a cricket match involving two famous English cricketers, Peter Willey and Michael Anthony Holding.

The announcer had the misfortune to say:

\"The batsman\'s Holding, the bowler\'s Willey\".....:flip:

That\'s one way to ensure a full toss:bouncy:

not a names thing as such, but funny nonetheless. Donny Osmond commented on a daytime chat type show that for the first time he took a virgin on the way over to Britain(meaning the flight company ofcourse....)...;) that was funny

My dad knew an american guy called Richard Fox, and they were at a seminar together (in england).

He introduced himself as Dick Fox

everyone wet themselves laughing, and the he was really confused, looking around him to see what was funny... and asked \"why are you all laughing?\"

some brave soul piped up... \"what is your name?\" and the guy answered \"Dick Fox\"

*laughter erupted again*

\"fox, Dick Fox... F, O, X... why?\"

\"erm... it sounds like fux\"

\"oh god no....\"

Hmmm...funny names huh. One of the news readers on BBC Radio 2 is called Fenella Fudge - I always think it sounds like Vanilla Fudge :D

Also, when I first started my current job, we used to have a sales rep call in and on his business card he has his name as \"Roger. A. Friend\". Personally I think he was blissfully unaware. At the same place, one of the girls names was Nicola Hymen....
