\'We come in Pieces\' Assault group wip

Not that much Wip really, as they\'re almost done, still I\'d appreciate any comments/advice before I varnish them tomorrow afternoon.
I don\'t like the standard assault sprues, so I screwed around with the tactical squad legs, I also put magnets on to the plasma pistol hands, as I\'m not to sure about wether or not they\'re a good idea in game terms. This was a real pain in the arse, I really wouldn\'t recommend going to the trouble if you can avoid it. Probably better for heavy weapons, I tried it with the heavy bolters in the command group, but in the end gave up, Man I hate putting the old metal heavy bolter together.
Well, whatever, as you\'ll see they look kinda dirty, but that\'s the idea, I thought they\'d be the most bashed about unit in the army, so I just went over board with brown washes over the blues., what do you think....

A minor fluff issue with the pads, but who really cares.

I quite like them. I think your poses are original and interesting. Nice addition with that chainaxe, good choice of bitz. The dirty apperance works well. Good job!

Altough, as i understand it, meerly 5 of them isn\'t going to do well in the game, you need to do some more of these guys.

looks like the chain axe is either scratch built off the bezerker sprue. Now if only i could be bothered to paint my templar assault squad that well

The Chain axes were botched together out of the old plastic lasguns from the original plastic guardsmen (1990ish), and the chainsaw combat bolter accessory from the original roguetrader plastic beaky marines, purely because I\'d run out of chain swords and it was the best I could come up with. Glad you like them, I was pleasantly suprised by the results myself.lol
