weatherng Space marines

Hey there...
I'm working on my next generation Space Wolves and get an ok result when I paint them. But I would like to get some of the 'age' weathering(discolouration and such) seen on the high-vote models in the gallery. I've got no problem on either scratches nor rust. It's that subtle discolouration and bleaching that makes it look ancient, not damaged, that bugs me
Can anybody help

thank you in advance

Start with base colour, add white (or a grey, beige, sand, white + brown, light flesh colour, whatever gives you a colour you like) then carefully stipple on to the armour, concentrating on the upper surfaces. Experiment, but that should get you most of the way there.

Combine this with chipping or other damage, maybe some oil or rust streaks, some dirt and grime and that's a pretty good basic weathering guideline for armour you want to look old.

Thank you. I'll try that
Then how would you go about grime and dirt in a subtle (non-fluff spoiling) way on marines

you can use very thin washes of paint in areas where grime and such are likely to accumulate..around bolts and such. the visuals would help. for my own aged terminators, I use a black/brown wash-representing the fact that battle grime is sacred and thus the armour is never cleaned on the outside....but there are lots of approaches. One might do older armour in much lighter shades, relfecting the fading of color over time.
