I just got nominated to get our website up and running at my small church. Any hints and tips on good software to \'plug & play\' for website design?

I\'m currently playing with SiteSpinner (free trial), but it lacks .gif stuff - or I am unable to make it work.

There used to be a good one called Namo from Namo Interactive Int.

Not sure if it is still on the market or not though and I haven\'t got a web address just a copy of it and the code to get into it.

i just use word. You can troll the web and find what you like then copy and edit that site. Word also had templates that you can use.

We are also trialling Joomla at work. Its free and has a forum and gallery all of which can be voted on. There are tons of templates for it as well and it is editable online.

No. Don\'t, ever. Never use word or frontpage for website (or for anything else really - use OpenOffice instead).

For a good and relatively simple to use WYSIWYG editor you can try Dreamweaver. For an even simpler aproach you can use one of the other options tossed around.

This is so true. WORD, Frontpage & Powerpoint all add a ridiculous amount of HTML code.
Kevin I\'d suggest looking at
http://www.download.com for Webauthoring software preferably GUI interfaced. Failing that \"Dreamweaver\" is about the best option, but expensive.

NEVER! use Word

What Mike said, download.com has loads of authoring tools, most are free too

Nvu is another good one.

haven\'t really tried any of the others.

Also, I can second the phpbb for a forum.

For gallery hosting software, a couple of my friends use this
