Hello all, brand new to the site. Ive been lurking for about a year admiring everyones work but now i want in the game. So this is my first post, here we go.

I'm getting married august 3rd and we're doing bride and groom cakes with seperate cake toppers per cake. My lady friend said i could do anything i want so what do i choose? Warhammer.
Does anyone have any ideas? Im thinking a sister of battle for her and some kind of a space marine veteran for me. It doesnt necessarily have to be gameworkshops though, i've found some of the 32mm models to be quite attractive as well. I'm kind of thinking i want our weapons in the air, swords maybe? idk im open to ideas! these are a few ideas ive had (cant post the pic as i am at work)

First off - congrats on getting married.

As for cake toppers - I don't know that I've seen people put painted minis up there, but why not? It's your cake.

Inspiring work from lono with a similar idea not too long ago, I thought this was a fantastic little conversion, really well thought out and worked well.

I think its the unusualness of the situation with those 2 violent beasts made to seem calm and happy with each other, in unison :) lol

Could try something similar, or if you just want to use one male model for your cake, theres space marine legs that are in a "down on one knee" position in plenty of kits now, all youd need to do is work the arms to be holding a little box with a ring in it lol ;)

How big are the cakes? 28mm figures might look really odd on anything bigger than a cupcake. You may want to branch out into the larger figure kits. Something close to the size of the regular cake toppers.

Uuuuuupdate

So I went ahead and purchased these from the store here.

I'm going to go with the normal black and white wedding paint scheme. I've never really done any modifications on a mini but i'd like to somehow take off her sheild and have them holding hands. And i have no experience with green stuff either, we'll see how it goes when they come in. This will be my first real public display of my work (not saying much)

Hey, welcome to the community, and huge congrats on the upcoming wedding!

I love your idea of incorporating Warhammer into your cake toppers. That’s such a fun and personal twist, especially with the separate bride and groom cakes. A Sister of Battle and a Space Marine veteran sound like a solid combo, power couple energy for sure! Raising weapons in the air, like matching swords or power weapons, could make for an epic, dynamic pose. Maybe even have them back-to-back like they're defending their cake territory together?

If you're considering minis outside of GW, you're right, some of the 32mm fantasy and sci-fi lines offer amazing sculpts with more expressive poses. You could even play around with a little kitbashing to make them unique to you two. I saw a couple once use customized figures holding hands, but each still kept their iconic gear, one had a chainsword, the other a flamer, it was strangely adorable!

Also, if you're exploring more whimsical or stylized options that still feel artistic and meaningful, you might want to visit here. They’ve got a variety of unique, handcrafted toppers, some lean more toward the quirky or animal-themed side, but they might spark some fresh ideas or even serve as a contrast topper on one of the cakes.

Looking forward to seeing what you end up choosing, be sure to share pics when it’s all put together!

Exploring stylized or quirky toppers alongside classic minis could add a charming contrast
