Weirdness with the GW Trolls...

This thread is not nessessarily designed to bash GW (though I do every chance I get), but I wanna hear all your stories with everything wierd you\'ve had happen with GW mail order. Note that this is not about prices or their inability to ship correct items, I just need to see how much the IQ of the average GW Troll is... :p

So, I\'ll start:

Once, I got an old Dark Elf sorcerer and there was half a famliar in with it! It was the \"Mite\" mini, with the sword and armor, but why would they send half? why did I need a famliar anyways?

I always keep my recipts untill I get everything, and one day I had enough waiting so I sent them an email with all my missing items. Anout a week later I got my suff and thought \"Hmm, that was fast..\"... Then the week afterwards I got it again... seems as theough the stuff was in transit when I asked for my stuff but they never took it off the system.... It was only a few bitz and a plastic sprue, but hey I didn\'t complain to anyone....

On one of my newest orders, I got a bundle deal of old Harlequins... and one was missing. That is itself isn\'t strange, but I had a Last Chancer model (warrior girl for those keeping score) instead! I don\'t play Imperial Gaurd, but I may paint it up and sell it one day.

So anyone else have wierd stuff like this happen? Extra bits in blisters? Double shipped orders? Different models? Live animals in the box? Let us all know!! :p

Yeah !

I\'ve heard many stories about mess-ups in
GWs order system ^ ^ One guy
ordered a 4000 pts Vampire Count army and got everything except 2 bat swarms.
So, he called and asked for those swarms and later he got another 4000 pts without
the swarms... he must\'ve been happy :)

Chrispy - enough of the beastial sadomasochistic necrophilia. Everyone on the site is aware that you don\'t like GW or their staff or anything about them. Yet you still continue to give them your money - why? If things are that bad, find some other manufacturer to paint, but sweet monkey jesus quit coming here and complaining about GW. I dont know about anyone else, but as you can tell, I for one am sick of it. If anyone posts anything about GW, you can be counted to make some comment about how they suck.

Dude, I\'ve been painting as long as you have been alive and I wish I had one tenth of the talent you show in your work. Hell, I enjoy the comic immensly, but the one thing that distracts from all that talent is the constant harping on GW. Move on man - quit beating that dead horse.

in about \'98 my friend bolstered his space marine army and painted a entire summer (3 months straight nearly all day every day) and he placed 4 orders for his space wolves and they all came in perfectly. now THAT is wierd!

I can\'t say I\'ve had any wierdness with GW mail order. Mind you I\'ve only used the service a couple of times over the past few years! It might be worth putting in a large order just to see if I get two orders sent out! You can\'t argue when GW f*** up and give you free stuff.

Most of the stories I\'ve heard have been about the ineptitude of the staff rather than mail order weirdness. Such as the guy being told that his 1985 space marine was a fake because GW have never made marines with integral metal back packs! Still, that\'s what happens when you employ kids.

:D

So far so good...

I have always done well with the \'trolls\' (knock on wood).

Once they did send me an extra part, but I have always got what I have ordered.

Plus, either via E-mail or Phone calls, I have gotten very friendly responses.

So, it is either luck, or just my good clean living...:D

Gotta agree - always found them to be very helpful.

Years ago I ordered the boxed set of Harlequins and one was duplicated - a phone call got the replacement sent - ie one mini to the good by next post.:)

I don\'t think they do the same sort of deals on WD subs nowdays but the trolls used to be very helpful on advising when you should place your sub to get the best deal - extra issues, freebies such as the Mighty Fortress, etc.

Won\'t hear a word said against them me:innocent:

Went ok so far, actually spoke to some of them through the phone, and even the fact we both are not native english- speakers, the conversation went very well (believe the guy was from sweden, or norway).
Still waiting for that order though, almost 1 week ago... (fingers crossed ;) )

A freind of mine ordered 9 halflings for BBowl, and got his order two times... so has now more than enough to make a team, cheerleaders and fans lol !!

Don\'t get me started.

Ugh!

I recently ordered about 8 minis. Easy enough, right? So I got 4 of them and a note that said the other 4 were on the way. So I waited. And waited. So I contacted the company and they said, \"Our records show that 2 were mailed out this week and the other two will be later this week.\"
So I waited. And waited. And a dwarf came in a week and half later. And I waited. So, another month went by and I still didn\'t receive anything. Now I\'ve complained again and I\'m still waiting for a quarter of my order. I put this order in last March!!!!!!!!

Hey, wait a second. That wasn\'t GW it was New Wave Entertainment that I placed that order with. Oh yeah, I\'ve never had a problem with GW.

ps. How many of you have ever even considered returning the minis you got that you didn\'t order? Did you feel like you deserved what you didn\'t pay for? Just curious.

Not a spy... really.

By the way, I don\'t work for GW. However, I do work for the Georgia Department of Labor and we have two programs both of which frequently get abreviated GW. You can imagine the confusion in staff meetings when I tell someone about all of the clients I\'ve assisted through Games Workshop.

Personally I don\'t believe honesty is an absolute. If GW sent me more than I had ordered I would keep it and laugh. On the other hand, if Andy, from Heresy Miniatures, sent an extra leg I would call and ask if he wanted it back.

There is no \'rule\' here but one is a multi national dealership that puts profit before customers and the other is a one man band who is trying to scrape a living in competition with the big boys.

To take from either would be \'technically\' stealing but sometimes \'fuzzy logic\' is necessary.:bouncy:

I have had two occasions, once I got a bad cast from Reaper. I told them the problem and the fellow sent me a new cast, no questions asked. I even e-mailed again, and asked what to do with my miscast one, he told me to \'just keep it\'.

Secondly, I recieved an extra \'dark pegasus\' side from GW. Same deal, I asked if they wanted it back, and they said nope.

People call me Honest Abe.

Well, that is a lie, no one has ever called me that!!lol
