Hi all !

Actually working on a Troll from Dust Anastyr.

On white primer skin is painted with Catachan and goblin green GW , shadows with Chaos black and Liche purple GW ,ligths with Bronzed fleshtone ( game color Vallejo). For the pink parts the base is a mix of scab red and dwarf flesh washed with Baal red and higligthed with dwarf then elf flesh, finally with elf flesh and white

On the wristbands the little gems will be painted as turquoise( not sure about the name in english).

Nails and teeth are based with a warm grey which is a mix of bleached bone and a little bit of dark ( just based for now).

The jacket is based with Bone shadow ( Reaper master series), shadows with black and some washes of scab red and purple, highligths with bleached bone and white.

For the sword I wanted something really rusted.
The basecoat is Boltgun metal, for the shadowing I use chaos black with airbrush with very low pressure to have a mottled effect, then a lot of washes with snakebite leather, vermin brown and dark flesh, then I come back brushing and taping with vermin and vermin + bronzed flesh. Then boltgun and mithrill to picket and highlight edges.

For the blood it' s red and chestnut ink and red tamiya smoke.

Nothing finished yet of course, the upper part of the body needs more ligth, the sword more shadows and the blood more shadows and thickness.

And the pics !

Excellent! We need more high end WIP (we already have a lots, I know), following them is just a great source of inspiration!
Thanks Laurent for this one... I was looking for some green skin paint scheme, I think I just found it!

Thanks a lot for your comments guys !

Here are some more colours used for finishing this one :

For the gold part of the sword , near the blade ( I don' t know the word in english, if someone can tell me it will be helpfull :) ), I began with shining gold with a little bit of scorched brown( I always use for my metal basecoats a little bit of acrylics in metallics paints, it helps the metallics pigment to be much covering : scorched brown in the shining gold, codex grey in boltgun metal for example). Then I go for some higlitghs with pure shining.Shadows are painted using Gryphonne sépia and devlan mud, it' s not a big wash , but something more "in control". I like GW washes for gold shadows. There we go for the higligths : The shining gold is mixed with Vieil Or prince august something like "old gold", the colors is colder and greener compare to burnished gold wich is yellow. ( I assume there it's just a matter of taste). To finish the effect I come back with some washes with Turquoise and Red Brick a marvellous color from reaper master series range.

For the leather parts my basecoat is a mix of Vermin brown and graveyard earth ( for dessaturation), shadows with a little bit of black in the base, higligths with leather brown reaper master series ( really like reaper paints :) ) then bleached bone and a little bit of white in the final mix.

Nails and teeth are finished adding more bleached then white in the base and some washes of gryphonne sepia here again.

The stones/gems on the wristbands are done with bleached bone and white added in the turquoise base colour, and gloss varnish to achieved the effect.

That' s it !!!

Cheers

laurent

Ps : sorry for my approximative english, hope all is understanble...
