We've had enough! Miniatures that are becoming 'overdone'.

What types of miniatures are so well represented that you think we've had enough?

Just my opinion here....

Orcs/Goblins seriously, every company that does fantasy seems to have a bunch of these. And for 'sci fi'...Just by changing a c to a K and giving them a las-blaster doesn't mean they are new and fresh.

Dwarves. Sorry, they are almost as bad as the Goblins.

Pirates...maybe I'm just being hateful here. Who is buying all the damn pirates?

Modern Zombies....this one pains me. I love zombies and zombie miniatures...but there are a multitude of minis out there.

What types of things do you think are overly well represented in our mini world?

Interesting thread, but really all that needs to be done is inject a little originality. I love all the ones you listed by the way, give me more.....

wow, thanks for the list of zombie minis. that grab bag of 25 zombies for $35 by victory force minis looks like a good buy.

Can't get enough Orks.
What is over done, IMO, is how some fig's have SO MUCH stuff on them that they look like a pile of combat bling with a base.

I could live without more Dwarf minis. And space marine wannabees. And hi-tech sci-fi humans that only work in specialised settings.

Though it's the wacky sizes that leave me cold most often. Gonna be a while before I pick up any 32mm figs, would look weird with cases of 28mm. Guess I could step up a gear, paint all the 28mm's I'll ever want to so I'd have to move on. That, or just not bother with the wacky sized ones - hmm, what a poser. :p

yeah lots of orc/k but they are still nothing compared to the amounts of gw space marines that flood this and other sites. i hate space marines!

Most of my "Oh God, not another one of XXXX" would be historicals, where static-posed Romans, mediaeval figures and Napoleonics are so goddamned frequent in all the common scales, often with virtually the same figure in the same pose available in 54mm, 70-75mm and 90mm. And sometimes it's not like they're accurate enough to warrant an homage/copy!

Elves.
I am beyond sick of elves.
I have reached the point where I have actually refused commission work because the minis were elves.
The pointy little ears blended into the hair on the sculpt, so you aren't always sure you're painting the right bit the flesh tone.
Too many elven archers.
Not enough good human archer minis.
I really miss the old Ral Partha dwarf box, with the heavy crossbow team. I loved that mini, but lost my box ages ago.
Really meant to paint that one up.

I'm also getting really sick of seeing wolf pelts on so many things.

IN NO SPECIFIC ORDER:-
Space Marines,
Post Apocalyptic Punk Gangers,
Zombies
Overblown Orcs (Orks) that look like steriod munching body builders
Fat Bearded Dwarves, Yes they are short, but not everyone of them is gonna be carrying a keg around as a belly.
Tyranids.

Oi!! Two of my favorites are on here -

But got to agree with the over geared guys - sorry work around guys who are loaded with 100+ lbs (50 ish Kilos) of crap every time they go outside the wire - and they usually hang most of it off the vehicle - not on their persons.

Man... I feel so tempted doing a Modern Zombie - Pirate Space Marines Against Outraged Napoleonic Ork Dwarves (NOT Goblins...:D...) from Space Vignette next right now...:D...

I am with Vike on the pirate thing. Why can't we have more ninjas. More ninjas now!

People can ease up on making orc/ks as well.

I would love to see decently sculpted Goliath/Half giant miniature. A Genasi would be nice too.

I find it interesting that the only undead on the list are zombies, specifically, despite having been done to.....death. Most of them are human too, very few other species are represented. Of course I can't get enough of them...

normally i would say most things scibor (ducks)
not a dwarf fan either
Agreed. Never did understand what the appeal was for this range of minis. Really big, awkward looking Space Marines with giant turbines on their backs... I'd just stick to Citadel thanks.
