It was bound to happen eventually.. A topic on Star Wars.. Now, I can here you groaning that Star Wars was out before 40K and thus the space marines look like that but I\'m just calling up the paralells.
For examle, power weapons are obviously Light sabers, but in 40k they can be shaped into knives, scimitars and axes. Inquisitors also mimic jedi in some respects. There\'s also an Emperor in both, but one\'s out of it and the other is evil.
If the galaxies were to fight, I beileve 40k would win.. Why? Exterminatus, psyk-out grenades, and space marines.. Has anyone else notice that white armor of strom troopers does didly in the movies? And a gainst laser weapons too! Sheesh..
There\'s also parallels to Frank Herbert\'s Dune.. Both Luke and Paul were brought up on desert planets, both of their parents defied tradition and were of noble blood. Again, there\'s an emperor. And again, I beileve a Fremen or at least a Sardukar could be more thatn a match for stormtroopers, gungans and the like.
I\'m not saying one is better (where\'s the 40k movies?) , I\'m looking at it tactically. I mean, all we can come up with in star wars in laser weapons? Give me a plasma weapon anyday, despite the big boom of overloading..
Lemme know what you think!
