What about wood elves?

Hey guys, I was just thinking about it and you may know the answer to my doubts;):

When are wood elves going to be released? In fact I don\'t collect this army, I have no plans about painting any of its minis and I don\'t think I\'ll collect them ever (simply because I dont play warhammer:bouncy: I just paint) BUT, I was wondering about those poor affectionates to this affeminate army (just kidding!) They must be impatient! Why GW prefer to start with an army like Ogre Kingdoms, that nobody knew about (Im talking about half a year ago, for example, and at least in Spain we had never been told about ogres as an army itself) instead of finishing the wood elves before?
Thanks to all;)

Cause ogres are bigger, therefore use more metal and can be sold for higher prices, so more money for GW = new army release?

I had a look in the latset White Dwarf magazine and im sure it said they were re-releasing High Elves (had a pic of a plastic bolt thrower). I was shocked \'what about the Wood Elves\' I said to myself \' surely then did the High Elves not to long ago\'. Anyway as you can probaly tell I have not got a clue (probaly in 2 ways seeing as I talk to myself:D).

Wood Elves are coming out fall 2005. Ogre Kingdoms is unusual to be pre-empting WE, but I\'m not complaining since the new models are some of my favorites GW has produced for WHFB.

Anyway, over the summer will see the Rise of Sotek campaign book (but no big worldwide online thing for it). Dark Elves got a small revision, so now High Elf players have been wanting one two, and it looks like GW will give it to them. It\'s also an excuse to redo the mage. As with the DE, this isn\'t anything drastic.

A couple of sets are going plastic over the summer too, such as the HE bolt thrower and Skaven plague rats. The bolt-thrower of course also ties in with the HE revision.

Anyway, the WE models are being made now, and there\'s not too long to wait. However, in general WHFB is taking a back-seat to the much more popular 40k.

That\'s all the news for now, This is James signing off. :p

Ogres eat poor Elves

Well, I would like to see new Wood Elves minis. I don\'t collect them, but just like painting and sincerely I\'m bored of the usual High Elves. So hope we all get a new supply of Wood Elves soon. B.t.w., I think Ogre Kingdom is a GREAT army. I\'ve already pre-ordered mine here in Italy, and can\'t wait to begin skipping throught the army book and begin painting. I never created a personal WH army before, but I surely will start to create an army with those big n\' nasty guys! And minis looks great. Long live Ogre Kingdoms!!!

yes, but I have never said Ogres are not good... I only say that it\'s not fair to release them before wood elves;) Btw, ogre\'s hands are the best plastic ones I have ever seen;)

The store manager in our town talked to Alex hedström.. he designed alot of the ogres. And now designing alot of the WE.

He asked him if the ogres were hard to sculpt.. (free translation from swedish) \"no.. they are big and clumsy. They are easy.\"
\"What about the elves then.. they got to be hard\"
\"Nah.. they\'re easy too\"

Nice to hear that sculpting really isn\'t as hard as people think. :D:D:D
