Jericho:
are the minis as good as they looked in the pics from the GDUK seminar?
They are nice and large and fairly easy to paint in comparison to the Rackham I just finished. But the initial batch I got weren\'t that good a fit, however this is something that has been raised and corrected.
As for painting for the studio, just a few things so far some step by step Sisters of battle, (plus some alternate colour schemes) and these Chaos bods.

Congrats on getting to do those, I always thought it would be cool to paint a few new releases for the launch of a new range.

Indeed, that\'s impressive even if it\'s just some minor work. To get your name/figures in a GW book (WD doesn\'t count since I\'ve done it what 4 times now? ;)) impresses the hell out of me.

So are the Chaos Warriors plastic or pewter? The pics I\'ve seen look like 3-ups but it\'s hard to tell since they\'re studio shots and not just some Games Day cabinet nonsense. Might\'ve been resin mockups for the pewter castings...

Oh and I almost forgot to mention... I left my bloody brushes, all the figs I\'m working on, and all the paints I was using to do them at work and won\'t be able to get it back for a couple days :flame: So much for getting a bunch of work done on my days off...

Plastic, but once primed the detail is as good as metal. Mind you it was good job they were plastic, as it took five hours to glue the little buggars together.

having finished the chaos sorceror, I\'ve actually started on the Keeper of Secrets, the pink flesh is proving troublesome, but I\'m pretty happy with the gauntlets, they are kinda blue NMM and I\'ve deceided to bite the bullet and have a go at that damn new fangled NMM on the buckles and rings (small areas so if I mess it up easy to go over).

currently I\'m working on an entire army of chaos (about 8000pts), an army of beastmen (3000 pts) and an growing army of lizardmen (now it\'s around 1500pts I think).

That is so amazingly cool! Have you met Tammy then? How are the SOB? When you say step by step, do you mean they give you a chart to keep the army uniform? I never knew you were such a good painter! Congrats! Did they contact you, or you to them?

to paint or not to paint

You can\'t buy miniatures in China anywhere except for in Hong Kong. So basically I\'ve been miniature dreaming for a month and will be for another month until I return home for a hardcore painting session.

Happy New Year to all,
Chris

That is so amazingly cool! Have you met Tammy then? Yes, Several Times. And her Avatar is nothing like her, except that the last time we met, (November) She did an amazing slump of her shoulder and took on the same pose as her avatar in one of Chrispy\'s comics.
How are the SOB? When you say step by step, do you mean they give you a chart to keep the army uniform? I\'ve got a SOB army so I was familiar with the miniatures. Tammy saw them at Manchester\'s Conflict where I won a painting competition. (& the wooden spoon for wargaming!) She passed on some studio requirements and I painted up to match them. Not so much a chart as a general guidline for the concepts they were looking for, ie do\'s & don\'ts.
I never knew you were such a good painter! Congrats! I\'m not that good just reasonable.
Did they contact you, or you to them? Tammy contacted me and asked me if I was interested, like I would turn down that opportunity.

I just started a Leviathan Iron Drake that I picked up on Ebay for a song. I\'m doing it up in illusionistic metalics. You will probably see it sometime around fall. Thats about when I expect to have enough cash for a decent camera.

Finally got the damn shelves finished - I could start on some of the back log of older figures that are primed and prepped, but I think this week I\'m gonna start the Skeletal Pirates, Soul Cannon, and Faries from Reaper - yeah, I know, what a combination.lol

monster project!

problem with life is there comes a time when other things are more important than our mini world - sad to say! namely exams!!! but my mini project to construct a diorama has been too tempting to put down:D dont worry im under control of my mini addiction now.

anyways its the first time that i believe i will eventually complete a diorama rather than the usual start and then shortly entering into the decline period where everthings gone pear shaped! thus, i have endless musseum pieces (scaps) displayed (littered in the basement).

i put these incomplete projects down to the fact that im continually learning and so new techniques are discovered which make the early stages look poor in comparrison. or maybe its because my dad says i paint too much!!!

anyway the diorama it self is quite ordinary in that its a last line of defence of imperial guard with lots of wounded men. but im not gonna give it all away until its complete. :D

I\'ve been doing lots of characters lately, so I may have a go at finishing some SoB or Dwarf rank and file.
