Don\'t the paralympians have their own games just after these? I watch those as well as the \"able-bodied\" games.

In a country like china, where it seems the worst aspects of Communism and Capitalism have been fused, they certainly don\'t have much of a choice. Either gymnastics is a ticket away from grinding poverty, or it\'s an obligatory state service for those with the ability.Originally posted by Evil Dave
Now should we lower the age limits? Not for me to say, but I do find pushing girls that young into Olympian standards instead of just letting them be little girls to be a bit self serving and cruel.
Well, personally I prefer a bit more \"badonkadonk\" on a woman... But that\'s just me.Originally posted by freakinacage

Oh? And who provides the baseball diamond? Pays to light the field? But, our league isn\'t supported by anything but the players league fees and the coaches willingness to buy equipment. There\'s no municiplal sports support for us.

What needs to be worried about more, in children, is muscular development.
Pushing the muscles too hard, too soon, can result in some pretty serious problems
later in life. My doctor told me not to start weight-lifting until I was at least 13, and
he listed a whole bunch of reasons, but I can\'t remember them, anymore.

Mike, I\'d think having a family member like that would make you love the olympics even more.
Stan was one of those great people who do not get anywhere near a 10th of the credit they deserve. He had a promising career as a middle distance runner until frostbite from the Russian Convoys robbed him of most of his toes, after that he became a coach, trainer and driving force behind Gateshead\'s sports initiatives.
His view of Olympics & Para-Olymics wasn\'t \"Seperate but Equal\", but One Competition, One Team.

To umpire the womens competition you\'d have to be Gay to keep your eye on the ball.
