What base?

Not been about for a few weeks due to Xmas parties and wotnot, so sorry for the lack of posts etc

Spotted this in the back of the cupboard, and having become very, very, very bored of painting brown (wood elves), thought I\'d paint it up this coming weekend.

I\'m stumped on what to do with the base that will take little to no time to knock up What does anyone think?

What do you think of wooden planking? Or maybe... Cracked mud...?

If it just for display give him a larger base and make it like he is marching along a road with ditches on either side running along.

Hehe, cool cobbled road n\' ditches it is then

I\'ll make up a display base for him I think, with a 20mm square cut in so that I can game with him if I want. Also means that I can do the base separate.
