What brand of paint do you primarily use?

Hi,
For mini I use Prince August/Vallejo, Citadel and sometimes Gunze/Tamiya paint.
When I build car (oldies , muscles etc...) AFV, in addition of the precedently paint , I also use Humbrol, Zero Paint and Testor.
Mig pigments are too expensives for the quantity, I prefer to use pigments found in Graphical Arts shop same quality.

Any suggestions for a Vallejo "starter set" of paints that's not *too* expensive?

I started off with the Reaper Learn to Paint Kits (2, 4, and 5) so I guess I'm concerned about color overlap. Or just let me know how you pick paints from a new brand you're not familiar with!

I like Army Painter war paints. 17 ml for 2.99 and I'm very happy with the results.

Well there's always the lollipop method, but mostly it comes down to recommendations from people who've bought paints and found out which ones THEY like.
I've done the lollipop route and worked out which ones I think are my best choices.

I am torn, I use classic Citadel and Vallejo Game color about evenly. I also use a goodly amount of the master series paints. I have found two ways to make the paint easier to work with.

I always add a drop or two of Liquitex Airbrush medium to my paint.
I keep my paint from drying up on my palette by using a piece of parchment paper as my palette. I keep it in a small plastic tray with a damp sponge underneath it. I have mixed up paint on Friday night, and still found the paint perfectly useable on Sunday morning. As long as the sponge does not dry out Great thing about parchment paper is that it is sold cheaply in rolls at the local market. You find it right by the wax paper and foil.

Of course, my wife thinks the parchment paper is for baking... silly woman.
