Well, actually I don\'t really love this fig myself. :duh:
I got her with a 75% discount from a store that was closing
On a scale from 1-10 I would probably give her a 4. The casting is good and the anthomy is pretty good too (IMHO), but the pose and the face suck big time. She\'s pretty quick to paint because she\'s mostly skin....

Now let\'s talk history. Minis have been made since sculpting began. The wargame/rollplay mini industry is more than 30 years old. I have some totally nasty pieces from the 70s, AND THEY WERE THE GOOD ONES BACK THEN! I didn\'t buy the bad ones!
Now modern stuff, I have a couple of games that come with minis and they stink to high heaven. I just picked up a cheap copy of \"Carnage\" and it looks like a fun game even though the 90 odd minis that come in it look like some sort of mutant jelly freak with one side of the face several inches higher than the other (in scale).
\"Danu\" may have a dumb pose, but at least she\'s got human proportions.
Put up an ugly pic and I bet I can put up an uglier one!
And I\'m not afraid to do it either as anyone looking at my gallery can tell lol

Check out some of the mini manufacturer\'s pages on the Stuff of Legends... Woof, there are minis with more \'urrgh\' or \'ehh what the hell is that dangly thing?\' than a, well I won\'t say, its to rude, but some of them are just bloody awful. I remember buying some of those \'skinny humans\' that GW put out in the 80s. I believe they were for W40k, the astropath springs to mind but he might not be. He\'s in the \'blue\' catalogue on SOL if you want to take a cheeky peek.

I don\'t know that I\'d go that far. Granted, Some of them do look a bit odd - *ahem* Karix and the new Allon warchief *ahem* - but for the most part I think they\'re nifty. I\'m particularly fond of the soulcaller and the stegon shock troops.
I will agree on the old models generally being stinkers though. I\'ve got a pile of old Dungeon Dwellers that barely rank above \"formless blob\" level.

Back to the Danu
This post makes me cringe almost as much as the movie that inspired it\'s title...but it\'s because of that nasty mini!
Seriously folks this mini blows...and Inge\'s Danu is no looker either...capably painted...sure...no prizewinner though...
It\'s not cuzza her skill though folks...I think anyone would have a time of it trying to make this lump of crud look good.
The worst sculpts I have seen may be Ral Parthas old Star Frontiers minis....The Vrusks in particular...I\'m determined to paint one and make it look good though!

That amoung most of the Foundery Girls Stuff...is a shit fig if there ever was one.
Take a Sc-Fi thing a mah bobby,that turns metal into an exact duplicate of the thing,but as it would be as a live`n human ect...
Them Foundery joints would look like a bow legged,club footed,buck toothed,fat floppy azzed,puggy inch inch a lil ugly worm fat bellied ,double inflamed jointed elbow and knees flat chested wart hoggies.
...leave us not ta ferget they have ungly azz hands and feet,look like a damn pixi sock wit oven mits on...lawd have mercy!

lol:Back in the early eighties I did some home painting for one of the companies that produces collectable figures in the style of the old toy soldiers.
the company sent me a kit of very thick enamel gloss paints a couple of brushes - very like the GW \"tank\" brushes and some quite nicely moulded soldiers.
The idea then was to apply a thick white undercoat and then to paint on an approximation of the uniform - no trouble about flash or lining up the eyes either.
Payment was by the model so a quick turn round was encouraged.
End result was none of the moulded details were visible at all and the figure was high gloss almost like it came from a jelly mold!
This probably was the main contibuting factor to me loosing interest in the hobby for the best part of the decade!:|~

Hey, me too! I have the \"player characters\" set. The Dralasites are at this moment primed and on my workplace. The Vrusk sculptor seems to have done a decent torso then had his 5-year-old do the body! I think the \"sathar in space suit\" is just as bad though.
