Hi guys,
I am painting Ilyad Games leonidas. I am having a bit of trouble deciding what color scheme to paint him in. I don\'t like Ilyads \"stock\" color scheme at all.
I think that I want to go with aged steel/silver armour (Metallics. It\'s funny how nmm is going back into decline. ) but I don\'t know how to paint the rest.

Please help!
Jake

Edit: This is the mini painted in the Ilyad \"stock\" scheme:

To me he looks kind of regal. So I would go with a blue or purple cloak myself.
I would also do the armour bronze as it would be more authentic to the time period he seems to represent.

Ya. Purple or blue would look great. What color should I go with for the undergarments? I don\'t want to paint the armor bronze. Either silver or gold for me. What does everyone else think?

This guy looks like the classic Greek/Spartan. Heavy metal with white and red cloth. Red hair and trim. Gold filigee. Just my 2 cents worth. Love the mini btw post some pics soon.

More traditional Roman look for Lorica, the armor the mini has, was bronze with red plume crests and red cloaks with gold or white trim. The leg guards are completly fantasy as Lorica used over lapping plates not scale mail like this mini. I need to get one of theses for my Arcanis games but still... colors i would opt for red plume, white undergarments, red cloak, bronze armor with silver filigree. But that\'s just me.

Blue!

No. Red!

Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!

Sorry, I was channeling my inner Python there for a moment.

Actually, Leonidas was the leader of the Spartans and they wore red supposedly because it didn\'t show blood. The Romans adopted this from the Spartans.

The heck with history, though. I think the purple would look really good.
