What do you do with LEs/rarities?

I buy and paint what I like. If I know a figure I\'m interested or think would be cool for dioramas in an LE I might buy an extra copy. I usually do buy an extra or two of the ReaperCon figure as it generally does appreciate in value, but usually I like the fig a lot too. When I\'ve done commissions in exchange for product or won prizes of product I\'ll sometimes take a couple extra of an LE item after I\'ve picked out all the stuff I want for myself. There\'s been a couple of occasions when I\'d have donated them to charity fundraising auction efforts if I hadn\'t had another way of contributing.
this is my biggest addiction in the hobby is collectin\' LE\'s...
luckily, i have held off on becomin\' an e-bay buyer, so i don\'t get caught up in the heat of tryin\' to win a bid, and spend way more than i ever intended...
luckily, workin\' in the biz for 5 years has made me a lot of contacts with insiders who can get their hands on the little gems i want...
so what do i do with \'em??? i buy two of each...one to paint and sell, and the other to keep...that\'s a real addiction, two of each!!!
the list would be too long to put here, but my pride and joy is my unreleased malekith on foot, which was a gift from fitz...that\'s right, he was free!!!

I paint them.
A lot of the out of production stuff brings back fond memories of when I was a teenager. Old Citadel and Marauder stuff still make me smile.

I still haven\'t painted any of the old Marines I acquired last year. I should - some of them are pretty long in the tooth and therefore quite \"unique\" in style.

so far i have based and primed most of the \"nice LE models\" that i have acquired.
that is to say i have gotten a couple of LE models that have seen the cutters from various ignorant modelers and therefore lost some of that loven feeling. ooooh that loven feeling. i mend these small few as best i can and then paint then just like the rest.

I have a few.
I intend to paint them some time, I am not one to save them to sell.
I always mean to buy lots of forgeworld specials at the shows though to sell on but never do. The crush of bodies and smell of sweat makes me lose focus.
The only le model I would really like is the 97 gduk ork model. I have one buts its been converted and I would love to paint it again. One of the best ever orks.

I told a porky actually - I found two Harbinger of the Moon figures I had from Uncle Hex when I visited him a couple of years or so ago. Five Figures Phil they call me!

Got the LE White Dwarf birthday mini, more out of curiosity than anything else. Had to have a laugh though, I saw an ebay auction where the White Dwarf mini was going for more than the GW Master\'s paint brush set. Hmmmm, true value?

Hmmmm, true value?Again I\'d just check ebay if I were you, the elf and the wolfpriest seem to be going for less than a tenner. The Inquisitor is going for about twenty quid but I really wanted to get one to paint and I\'m miffed that I didn\'t get two so I\'m keeping him definately.
It does appear that I have an overinflated sense of what these minis are worth, or rather what they\'re worth to me. I\'m a shameless hoarder so I tend to be very possessive about hard to get stuff. Like I said if anyone\'s desperate for something and doesn\'t mind paying an arm and a leg to overcome my sense of sentimental attachment then fair enough but it\'s probably best to check Ebay first as I guarantee it\'ll be cheaper lol

I don\'t think I have many. The only one that comes to mind is the GW WD Subscription Goblin, still sealed in the mock book thing from last year. Didn\'t renew my subscription so I won\'t be getting the SM.
And the Kraken cat mini only available at shows. I bought 3, one I sold and covered the costs of buying the other two. One I have to paint myself, it got about half way done and I wasn\'t happy, needs a re-prime.
And one I commissioned out as the figure needed a stunning paint job as it\'s such a cool figure, which it got!

I just bid on an unpainted version of this guy. I\'ve been looking for him forever, so hopefully the bidding doesn\'t go too high.
I dropped $50 for a sealed Sgt. Centurius before, and also around $30 for the Captain Draco mini, from the Black Templars box. Of course that one was later sold direct for $15. :cussing:

This is interesting. This buy-2-sell-1 trick seems lke a good one! Tho in reality I\'ll probably just stick to buying what I like. If I don\'t like a mini, I\'ll probably not buy it, regardless of LE status. Old-school stuff the same.
That racing driver ork is cool, tho. Not my type, but I can see the appeal!

I avidly collect oldies and rarities - mostly Grenadier/Ral Partha. I also paint and post them, to the detriment of my scores, but I don\'t really care about that - I like to see them painted!
The better OOP Grenadier & Ral Partha sets sell for a premium on ebay. I saw a Planescape boxed set go for about $60 a week or two ago.

I hear you treide. It\'s pretty satisfying to finish up a well painted chunk of classic lead that is probably one of the only well painted examples online. Probably won\'t get a good score, though. I receive a lot of \"Thank god those days are gone,\" comments on my classic lead.
I\'m more into the OOP stuff than the limited edition stuff, and personally I collect a lot of Rogue Trader-era (mostly Marines) and early early 2nd edition 40k stuff (mostly Orks). I have been searching for the Grenadier Future Wars stuff lately. While not quite as classic as the Planescape, it is still not easy to find. I think Em-4 minis reissued the line, but I have yet to order anything.
