What happened to D. Summers ?

Hello there,
I have been gloating over my miniatures hoard this weekend and noticed that there are no miniatures of my favourite sculptor ever - D. Summers - than from the last century.

Seems he vanished from the surface of the earth with the disintegration of Ral Partha. Does anybody know what became of him ?

D. Summers !

You know, he\'s the one that made \"Bridge of Sorrows\" and \"Antagonists\" and \"The Conflict\" and among others also very nice characters for the Werewolf RPG.

I have \"the conflict\". It is very cool!

Dave Summers now seems to do a lot of sculpting for Dark Sword, especially their dragons, and has done some very nice stuff recently. I don\'t know if he works for anyone else tho.

I believe he\'s sculpted some new stuff for Dark Sword.

Thank You !
This was fast!
I\'ll really take a closer look at DarkSword, didn\'t have them on my list, because their miniatures are so big.

Just looked a little further, and he has a website too: link

Wow @Amazon warrior, You are better than google.
The website isn\'t sooo good, far from a complete work compendium, but hey, they probably do something instead of hanging around the internet.

D stands for Dave.. and hes Mad as a hatter..run off into the woods last I herd...

Naaa just kidding hes a good friend of mine and co worker of over 14 years from my Ral Partha/wizkids days. He works freelance now like myself here in Cincinnati now and does a lot of work for Dark Sword and Iron wind metals among others. Though for Ironwnd I think hes doing mostly Battletech. The days of the really big models and dragon dioramas are gone especially because of the price of metal. Keep an eye on Darksword for fantasy stuff done by him.

I speak to him all the time..Ill tell him hes missed.

 Thanks! Probably says worrying things about my use of time, but oh well! :D

I posted the site before looking through it properly, so I only realised afterwards that it\'s a little light on content. I didn\'t know he had a brother who\'s into sculpting, tho.

I\'m rather a fan of Dave\'s too, got a few of his dragons from Ral Partha. Including 10-363 Panther Dragon which is still new in the box except for a little bit of the plastic wrap cut away so he could sign the box for me.

OK, not me personally, bought it from him off EBay. Either way I don\'t really want to open the box. :drunk:

The Panther Dragon is by Dave Summers !
Well this is some news. That Dragon has been bothering me for years. I never liked him because of his lacking wings, but kept always looking for him, because he\'s sooo eerie. Now I buy.

Edit: Done! connectstores.com sold it for 9,75 British Pounds.
Joy !

.... and please tell him that I adore and cherish his work very very very much. Little me does and I\'m sure lots of other people do too. His minis are sparkling with so much life and character I haven\'t found in any others sculptors work. They always take me a very long time to paint because they tend to grow while painting and I repeatedly need to readjust to get them quite right.

Dave Summers is alive and well

Mr. Summers is still sculpting up a storm. His website is currently at:

I enjoy his work as well. I\'m especially fond of his 1991 Ral Partha Sylph and his Duke Ice Falcon. For an amazing interp of the Falcon, check out Angela Imrie\'s (Saxon Angel) Crystral Falcon which formed part of Angela\'s 2003 Check Challenge winning entry. Very delicious interp of a very delicious sculpt.

Well have to admit that one did a Flyby on me.
I never watched \"Buffy\".

(So does that mean I have to hand in my Geek membership at the door?)
