So in the Inferno kickstarter trailer, it says "The Angels that protect Arcadia have been imprisoned by the Evil Underlord". Which lead to the events of the Inferno campaign. So what I want to know is: What were the Angels that protect Arcadia doing when Lord Fang conquered the City? They kinda dropped the ball on that one too. Where is Arcadia getting these lame, no job doin Angels?

No way, man. Angels are just useless as protectors.
I mean, there will be other expansions in the future. When these angels are free, do you think it won't be up to the selfish guilds to protect the city?
Just goes to show that you can't rely on angels to keep a city safe. It takes a lot of cold, hard cash in the hands of a lot of rival mercenary guilds to keep a city safe.
