What I did with my twiggy seductress

Here\'s Mirari the seductress from Reaper. I bought her thinking it would be an interesting exercise in painting fleshtones for the whole figure.

It is certainly an interesting challenge because she is really really tiwggy with muscles that don\'t seem to match human anatomy. In my view, seductresses should be a little more.... fleshed out and softer.... Mirari is a little on the bony side.

Also the posing of the flowing ribbon looks a little odd. There wasnt really much of a base, so I sculpted some fallen green leaves and dirt to complement the figure.

Anyways, I decided to paint this mini to try that transparent/translucent material against skin effect. What do you all think of it? Comments appreciated.

Yeah, she does seem a tad skinny to be a \"seductress\" in a medieval fantasy setting. You\'re right, guys in the middle ages liked their women rather... Reubenesque. It was a sign of health and affluence. Reaper should have got one of the I-Kore sculptors to do their seductress for them

But as to the mini, I see what you mean about the arms. Over in the UK slack underarm muscles sometimes get referred to as \"Bingo Wings\" .

Nice job on a rather quirky figure. I really think you\'ve made the best of an odd sculpt. The translucent fabric came out pretty good! Nice job.

actually she reminds me of this lady I saw in town some years back... pretty though.... tall and twiggy and blonde... and er... she wore a similar dress... thin material with reallly high slits..... I dunno how she can walk around in it cos I was staring with all my eyes

and then she promptly vomits them up....


Excellent job on the translucent stuff. That technique just amazing me. I mean I know what I am looking at, but it tricks the eye so well...

actually Supervike, I was kinda using Mirari as an experimental piece.....

I am currently painting that bretonian fey sorc on horse...... thinking of trying transparent cloth on her....

I think I have bingo wings :|~ I feel so ashamed, I\'ve never been to a bingo hall in my life.

BTW - Tabithan I love the \'see-thru\' material. It looks really effective....
