What I\'ve Been Up To...

Hey Guys,
As many of you might have noticed I have had a huge decrease in my activity on CMoN and with the rest of the miniature world. I have been on a vacation of sorts or perhaps you could name my miniatures my vacation and I am now going to work? I have been honing my art skills for the lost art of airbrush. It was big in the 70\'s and I\'m hoping to join the tide for revival. (or insert cheasy line here... lol ) Any way, I\'ve been sketching, brushing, and shooting like crazy.

Heres some of my work:

I painted this 12\" x 12\" piece on a 15\' x 4\' piece of canvas. It is being sent around to different members of learnairbrush.com and each are painting a piece of it. The final canvas will be sent to the US airforce as a gift.

Very nice! Doesn\'t airhead use airbrushing as well?

The Tiki is probably my favorite as well, but all look great.

Great work. I had wondered where you got to.

I finally made it down to Gamescape. WOW, what a place! If you look in the back of the store, on the right hand side there is a GOB of the stuff I designed for Armorcast. Thanks for telling me about that place. I liked their selection of Rackham stuff.

Another kustom kulture fan, eh? I both airbrush and pinstripe. The tiki is really, really nice.

You ever visit sketchkult.com? Great forums and gallerys for all things kustom and kool.

Never been there... I lounge around airbrush.com, the kustom kulture lounge (coast) and learn airbrush. I\'ve been trying to learn to pinstripe but damn is it hard.

Yea, I haven\'t broke out my striping brushes in about a year, which really sucks, since I was just starting to get good. It takes a lot of practice, but it is a Zen art, much like mini painting. You have to learn to get in the zone, and it just comes to you one day. After you hit that point it starts to get easier.

I like using my airbrush to do cool textures and effects, and I really like metal flakes and pearl paints. I usually lay down a background with the airbrush and brushpaint over top. The actual artwork side of airbrushing doesn\'t do it for me.

Good luck though, there is good money to be made doing custom auto work!

I worked on the tiki a bit today. It has to be finished and cleared by thursday. YIKES! :eek:
I just need to slap on some highlights and stuff. I think i\'ll make it.... I hope. :(
