i'm too technically challenged to be able to play videos while i paint. (yes, i do live in a cave...) i listen to progressive rock (joe satriani, or rush, or similar music) or fusion jazz.

I enjoy watching the HIstory channel....especially if it's a show I can listen too.

It's also a great time for movies I've seen a few times....I like having the tv on much more than having music on....

Now returned to Babylon5. Already ready for the second season, so I have a prettier Delenn to look forward to, a commander that can do more than raise some bushy eyebrows.

Very. It was a big and bold thing. Being a Sci-fi series that wasn't episodic. With story arcs for each character, each season, each race, and an over arching plot. All those subplots winding through each other. Driven by characterisation. Characters that were more than their jobs ala Star Trek, and often funny. The cgi effects are ropey by todays standards, but they were pushing the technology when it was made. If one is into the genre then letting this pass on by would be a shame. The kind of shame that should prompt children to point and laugh, throw stones, and leave flaming bags of poo on ones doorstep. Avoid the poo, best get downl... buying. :wasntme:

i tend to watch anime. i recently finished Naruto and not bothering to find a new one i started watching Family guy in stead. Family guy rocks...
a note on the Naruto one though, i rarely actually look at the screen when i'm painting, i just hear what happens in stead. So when i was watching Naruto (Japanese with english sub) i actually believe i've learned a lot of japanese! or... some... i think...

anywho. i listen to music, a LOT! i find jazz work good when painting. that or some slightly heavier stuff. not too heavy though. i rarely go any heavier than the white stripes or queens of the stone age. great music that is.

Yeah, I've seen SG-1 and Atlantis so many times that I can see the action in my mind as I listen and paint. I can't do math, but I can play movies in my mind...woot?

Pretty much any movie I mostly know by heart (so I got a lot to choose from). Predator: audio only version is art of the highest order, as is the Lethal Weapon oeuvre. Also, older episodes of How I Met Your Mother or various audiobooks (trying to justify getting A Game of Thrones as read by Roy Dotrice over here) and music of all kinds...

I'm a big fan of audio commentaries while painting. But I moved my gear, and now I have nothing but the washing machine and furnace for a little background noise. Sweet.
