what is a painting trademark

what is your own trademark quality that makes people say, oh that\'s so and so. your fingerprint, your footprint, etc, etc.

i generally work in only greens and reds and work with gritty style. others like manu use lots and lots of camo and battle damage. what separates you from the other.

so to answer this post look at each person\'s page before you, describe what their particular style is and then wait for someone to describe you next. hope you guys like this thread. l8r on.

airhead you seem to work a lot in greens and oranges. your work has a very earthy feel and it is evident in how the blending is used in your pieces. of note is how much of your bases are saturated with grass to give it a wild look.

good stuff man. never saw it before.

It\'s difficult to narrow down people\'s styles to a few characteristic parameters, but with the risk of generalising a bit here\'s my impressions of my friend Sven\'s (Avelorn) style:

- He works a lot with soft, warm colours.
- He uses quite muted and natural colours with maybe one or two strong colours to create an interesting colour scheme.
- He blends very well, which results in neat looking, elegant pieces.
- He does great faces with lots of subtle colour shifts and great looking eyes.

Hope that is a somewhat accurate description of his painting characteristics. :)

Avelorn\'s gallery - check it out if you haven\'t allready!

Uberdark you have already described yourself but i say you have a gritty and dirty style. Your colours are desaturated and rarely go bright but remain distinguisable and seperated.

Sven\'s Gandalf the Grey is one of my favorite pieces.

I\'ll do Rituals....\"Dark and moody\". Dat was simple!

Cadians---your style seems to be \'realistic and somewhat sketchy\'

Matty---\"Neat and concise--bold colors\"

M.A. Corso... highlights that go all the way up to white and very precise lines.
EDIT: Yeah, I didn\'t read the original post well enough. Ignore me.

I paint my thumb.
Hey, cool topic, kind of yearbookish....

I\'ll join in only to get someone to describe my style..

Supervike plays with textures, his style often cross at the line between the realism and cartoonism, to create interesting contrast.

Was that good, was that accurate ?

it\'s funny, the first thing that came to mind for anders was \"bold use of muted colors\" which I suppose sounds something like a contridiction, but works. His choices tend to be someone bold, but then his painting style is somewhat dark and moody, so those bold choices get muted by his style, and help them flow together in a nice coherent way :)

I think one of his main characteristics is the way he use the full tonal spectrum... from almost black to nearly (or completely) pure white. Without getting garish looking results!

one of the only persons styles that i recognize straight away is alexi z.

very clean and crisp with a cartoonish twist due to her nmm (which is damn good)

i recognise a lot of styles such as the french style and the cartoony american style, but not that many individual painters styles stand out to me :( .

Yup, I\'ve noticed that too...Its a predominate color in many of her miniatures....Same with Margo. I wonder if they could paint sans blue?
