I think the biggest problem with 5th Edition is..... changing form 4th Edition - or for that fact, anyone who\'s played a previous version. The same could be said of D&D and any other system the goes through a game changing, uh, change.
Most people who are complaining are complaining because of how it\'s differs from previous versions. Arguements about which version was better, what\'s broken, \"Why did they kill my (insert model/unit/character here)!?!?!?!?!\" As with all systems, none of them are perfect (unless you\'re 1st. Edition D&D

) There are gives adn takes, you just have to learn what they are and adapt.
I would give much to see the old 2nd Edition Pop-Up Shokk Attack Gun come back but it just wouldn\'t work, or be balanced, in the new editions. Sure it was fun, so was dropping 30 buzzer squig templates, but it\'s not there anymore, move on. Unlearning what has been so you can learn what \"is now\" can be hard - I know it first hand as I\'m still learning ins and outs of the new Ork Codex and it\'s true some forces still need to play catch up. It\'s fact of life and business they can\'t release them all simultaniously (sp?). Again, deal with it - or move elswhere.
I wouldn't mind so much them changing ("balancing") the rules, but they could at least finish making all the army books, and allowing people to PLAY them before they change 'em again.
I mean, getting the new Game rules, and then the updated "Peripherals (cityfight, etc.) and waiting for your ARMY's specific book, only to be the last armies book made, and then less than a year later, finding out that they are making a NEW edition to the whole game!!
It's frustrating, expensive, and to me at least, downright inconsiderate of the customers and gamers in general.
This has been a BIG reason why I HAVEN'T played the 3rd or 4th Editions, and if my G/f's Son hadn't begged me to play, I'd still only be buying the figs that I liked, rather than trying to keep up with an army.
Yeah, it's possible to keep pace, if you only have 40k as your hobby, no video games, or painting, or anything else, because anything that spends time or money...lessons your ability to play the game as they see fit.
I like the new minis, and many times I'll buy the new army book for the painted versions, and ideas, but I am going to stick with whatever books we have, and that will be what we play in the den. My LGS doesn't even STOCK 40k/WFB stuff anymore, so playing elsewhere means we play at home!
I spent 1/2 as much as Full spread army in 40k, and bought enough for 5 armies worth of Warmachine. AND enough left over for my first foray into Anima Tactics. Add that to the ability to go to the LGS and pick up a match! I converted!
I still buy the SAWEET looking minis, but I can't see buying OR PLAYING 40k on a table again, not until I retire.......
