What is up with 40k ork vehicles?

Isn\'t it time for Games Workshop to sculpt some new ork vehicles? They are all about 10 years old and the orks driving and shooting them look nothing like the boyz. I think they are the vehicles from gorkamorka. Anyone else agree or disagree?

As an Ork fan, I agree they are getting old. As far as I am aware, many are from Gorkamorka, and the Orks especially don\'t look updated at all. The Orks in the vehicles, especially the driver of the WarTrukk and Warbuggy look very out dated, and look more like half-sized Ork, more like Gretchin creatures.

I really think they do need to update them, they never seem to update the Ork range much. It\'s a shame.

Well they are supposed to be redoing the Ork Codex for the new edition, so I would think that the models will get a revamp at the same time. Unfortuneately that will only be end of next year-ish.

yeah I heard that the tyranid codex will come out after the marines and then after that the orks will finally have their codex update along with new vehicle models.

I also heard, but due to the ridiculous nature of the rumour I choose not to believe this, that you can join the vehicles together to form a bigger battlewagon (Transformers... more than meets the eye! lol)

Well, the current rumor is that the orks will get a new modular vehicle kit.
It is said you will be able to create a watrukk, Trakk, or buggy from it.
But more than likely its still in the planning stages.

The Rumor about the battlewagon was that if you bought several of the kits you would have the pieces to make a battlewagon but this is still quite sketchy.

Remember we still have SM, Tyranids, and possibley Black Templars and Eldar before the release of the Orks.
Still plenty of time for more rumors to surface!

The modular vehicle thing doesn\'t sound wholey unreasonable, it would be quite expensive for GW to do new plastic kits for Trukks, traks, battlewagons and bikes, so if they could get a modular kit right, it would save them from making loads of new sprues, guess we\'ll have to wait and see

ps, the current trukk is far too small

i think they have a really basic knowledge of technology but they steal what ever they can. why build it from scratch if you can nick it?

That\'s the best part of playing an Ork army is thet convertion possibilities. If you get tierd of the old Ork trukk, convert a new one so it can hold ten Orks.

When they do release new vehicles for Orks, I hope you do a better job scultpting the drivers. There is little/no detail on them. Terrible sculpts.
