What is your best Roleplaying Experience?

So what\'s people\'s best RP experience ever. if you\'ve got more than one thats cool, ive got lots as well.

In a Stargate Game, we had to fight a Gouauld, but he was hiding behind a shield. we spent about 3 rounds polishing off his guards, and then our \'diplomat\' decided to coax him out of his shield. one staff blast later and the diplomat was a scorch mark on the floor. in response, my character the sniper took a shot at him. I was amazed when i rolled 2 20\'s and max damage on the crit (28 points of damage to Lifeblood, which is your Con Score) which turned him inside out pretty quick. The DM\'s jaw hit the floor. it was great, and it was well worth the character mortgaging his house for the sniper rifle (an M82A1... )

A single night pitted game with 6 level 10 ( Boosted) players just for fun... I was DM. It was pretty simple scenario to get the player into a big bash and take it from there. Still behing a newb I miscalculated the challenge rating and pitted them again 12 skelleton warriors and 1 black knight, thinking it would be fairly balanced. I was wrong... But I played along as the players destroyed them happily, they ridiculed the black knight at the 3rd round, destroyed by a \'vortex of theets\',
Skeleton warriors failed their morale check and fled for their \'life\'... They got one of the circlets that control skeletton warrior and brough him back at the tavern and made fun of him with the villagers all night...
It wasn\'t serious by any means, but we sure had a lot of fun that evening.

A little background first. I used to play D & D (old school basic) with a group of 10 improv actors. We never got too high in level because we always got off track. We also played exclusivly out of my husbands world but everyone took turns DM\'ing. The main area was based loosley on dark age England but one of the group had an island off the coast that was based on France (something slightly off about that, \'eh?)

The night in question was run by the \"french\" guy. He was hosting a party for the Duke of the land that had a bunch of games and contests going on. We had a drinking game we played while we played so we got hammered pretty quick.

I remember the grand mele and the knife throwing contests and a series of encounters that seemed much like an episode of \"Who\'s Line is it Anyway\". We were all in rare form.

I had a dwarf I was running who was famous for betting on anything. The wrestling contests were underway and this french dwarf (I was english) challenged me to a match. We got to the placing our bets part and things kept going up and up. Finally....and I swear I didn\'t say this, it came from my dwarf using my mouth.....my dwarf says, \"lets make this real interesting. Let\'s bet our beards!\"

The whole place went silent. Dwarves came running in from everywhere, forming up in lines according to where they were from. The head honcho\'s of the tribes came out of the ale house just to see the match.

It was a very close match that took hours in real time to do (we were drunk after all). 1st it looked like I\'d win, and then it looked like he\'s win. Bets flew around like flocks of birds. At the point of total collapse by both of us we both fell on the ground. I got up and he didn\'t. WWF never had anything on that match.

In the end we had a shaving cerimony to de-nude the other dwarf\'s face. He was shunned by his tribe and I ended up having to kill him in a later dungoen because he just couldn\'t let it go.

Those were the days. <sigh>

That\'s crazy

My best moment came in a game of 7th Sea, I\'ve done a bit of d20 Modern/D&D stuff but this group was the only one that lasted long enough to be worth mentioning!

Anyway I was playing an Innish (Irish) guy from the Torres sword school. Rapier and cloak kind of thing, very sexy. Anyway a couple of us were getting pretty liquored up in the tavern, womens were involved, and my only request to the GM was to wake up in a ditch the next morning with a woman on my arm, and me with nothing on but the cape on my back and the sword at my side

In the end I got to pick out a whole new wardrobe, complete with puffy shirts and even puffier hats on someone else\'s coin. Very fun.

I also cut a guy\'s nose off in a duel at one point. My character was having a bad day, this guy mocked my Lady and I sounded like a true Irish peasant in challenging him. First attack was several raises (make the Target Number higher) for additional style and damage, followed by some of the most incredible dice rolling I\'ve ever seen. I did something heinous like 70 damage by the time my 10\'s stopped exploding (ie. roll a 10, and you get to roll an additional die with no limit... so potentially disgusting damage if you roll 10-10-9 like I did on one of them ).

To give an idea of how crazy my rolls were, I had a relatively high TN, got several inadvertent raises for damage because I rolled so incredibly much higher than I needed to, and because of the \"roll and keep\" system none of my kept damage dice were under 10. As I said earlier the highest was 29. I can\'t remember the last time I saw 70+ on \"three\" d10\'s.

My best RP moment occured yesterday ^^

I was GM\'ing a scenario from the game system of seven13: Cycle of existence (A modern/horror rp.. its quite new)

Well, the players are trapped in a room. Both doors a bloked by massive steel plates.
In on end of the room, one of the walls start opening, revealing (slowly) a Koraji (Which is the cool word for werewolf)
Se, my players have a well understood fear of these things as they have been trashed by one a few times before (meh) so they decide to figure out a plan.

And, now, i want to point out im maybe not the most experienced GM, and havent tried that many scenarios, but i though that what follows is a purely brilliant scene.

Well, the one of them, having a dual set of guns, hides in the shadows of the rooms corners, while the other stands in the middle, under a torch-ish.light-thingy (It burns, allright?)
Then, when the Koraji finally apears, the guy looses his nerves and are paralyzed by fear, and the Koraji pounces upon him, hammering him to the floor.
The other guy (the guy with the guns) thinks quick, and shoots down the Torch-thingy over the head of the Koraji, setting it ablaze and effectively ending that combat...
And i just thought i had them... meh

All, in all, a truly cool scene, with loads of drama

Old school D&D - I played (and still do) the Combat Brick - you know the type - anyway, the party had just come in from a very successful dungeon romp, and was spending money in a bar. The GM had required that we check weapons at the door, saying that the bar owner was tired of rebuilding the place when we came back from going adventuring. Well, one thing lead to another, and of course the classic D&D bar room brawl started, and while everyone else ran for the weapons, I grabbed a handy dwarf and laid about me. The fight ended with me being the only one standing, holding a leg o\'dwarf.

Battletech at a very small college con back in, oh, 1987. GM was amazing. When I look back I realize nothing really happened but I was incredibly immersed in the environment, and my bit didn’t even involve any mechs. I played a paleontologist for goodness sake!

Our second game of CoE

Meh, just finished running \"part 2\" of my all-newcycle of Excistence campaign...

I gotta say, that went smooth.
The players have really gotten into the system, and after the initial giggles, and warm-up, it really got goin\', with lots of *in-character* talking and NPC conversasion and such.

Also, i succeded in really stressing out the players, as i managed to catch them at unawares between a horde of \"nightmare Children\" (basically possesed kids) and a über demon.
At the last moment, one of the NPC\'s show up, and saves the day (I planned for that, though they almost got the demon down)

That was nice, cant wait for next time XD

Similary, met my wife on a Local BBS trying to start an online game of Warhammer Fantasy Battle. She was the first to sign up.

Being a newb low level wizard at school playing WHFRP... in a jam and found a bastard sword... rolled 3 times under 5% (DM given odds) to use the sword, hit the guy with the sword and cause damage with the sword.

didn\'t kill him but he was very confused, as was everyone else around the table when I didn\'t just run like a smart person would.
