What is your favorite small time mini company?

So as I was voting on mini\'s the other day I wondered what everybody else thought of as their favorite mini company. ???

Now I know that GW and Rahckam would get the majority of votes so besides what seems to be the current big 5: GW, Reaper, Rahckam, Privateer Press and Urban Mamoth, what is the best mini company still producing mini\'s today.

I just choose some random mini companies from the drop down list on the main page.

For me it would be a toss up between Hasslefree and spyglass with maybe a slight nod going to Hasslefree. Both have incredible scuplts and seem to be priced very reasonably.

I\'d have to pick either Heresy or Ollies Armies both have great ranges and great sculpts but Heresy would take the spot as they are continuosly expanding where as Ollies armies have been static for some time now.

I really like Tom Meier\'s sculpts (even though I don\'t have any) so Thunderbolt Mountain and Dark Sword Miniatures are good candidates.
Also, Werner Klocke! So Freebooter too.

Got to go for Hasslefree and Im not just saying that cos I paint for them.
Customer relations are second to none and I really get the feeling that they do care about us.

Yep have to agree with both Klute and Spacemunkie Hasslefree win the customer relations thing hands down.

Well done Sally and Kev it\'s a pleasure to deal with them.

I would also go for Spyglass as well I needed a figure before I went away last time and he was very helpful.

I\'d say Freebooter, since I have quite many of those (need to paint them, though :innocent: ). I\'m also quite fond of WarCrow, especially Yanick Henebo\'s sculpts.

I don\'t mind an occasional Hasslefree, Spyglass, Dark Age or Sacred blade mini, though! :D

I have to say ilyad because I\'m a huge fan of the chronique de la lune noir, and they have some truly awsome minis. But spyglass is also one of my big time favorit, love the minis.

I\'d have to go with Dark Age myself. They made at a slighty larger scale which gives more room to work with and is easier on my eyes! I really like the Dragyri minis. They\'re big (usually about 50-60mm) and fairly inexpensive as well.

I also like Spyglass and Hasslefree for the same reasons that everyone else already stated :D

Freebooters are always good because Werner is just awesome, but I consider that line a bit more on the \"pricey\" side.

Ilyad minis are superb! They\'re resin and also a bit larger than norm and the biggest problem with them is the lack of availibility in the States! :mad:

And I have a strong belief that WarCrow is very underrated. I have all their elf chicks, and the pictures in the online store does not them justice. They\'re very reminiscient of Rackham\'s style, nice sculpts and detail.

OK, that\'s my 2 cents!

um, from this list I\'ve only ever painted minis from Hasslefree, Freebooter, and Dark Age, and I think I enjoyed painting the Dark Age mini the most.

But I think that this might change any time depending on what I paint next! ;)

Although things have been quiet with them for the last few months, I would add in
Bronze Age Miniatures.
David makes some great generics and some cool barbarians, plus has always provided exceptional customer service to me (I have a couple of miniatures he did that weren\'t made commercially available, just given to regular customers as a thank you!).

For me personally it has to be Essex Miniatures, where some of Bob Olly\'s greatest work can be found in their earlier Fantasy ranges. As they have been around since the early eighties, they can seem a little crude by today\'s standards. I first saw them at Games Day 1987, so maybe my like for them is a little coloured by nostalgia for the good old days.

I am an equal opportunity miniaturist. I have a soft spot for so many of each of those lines, I could never decide.

Heresy has been a long time favorite of mine, Spyglass is exceptional, Hasslefree becomes more and more impressive with each new cast, Illyad\'s online catalog makes me drool (as does MSB Toys), Werner Klocke is unbelievable.....I could go on....

BUT, one that is missing that is my latest fave is SACRED BLADE MINIATURES. I just received my package from them and hugged it kissed it when I opened it (don\'t tell anyone that).....

Vile is that with the new Dino rider?

If so then my package should be on its way as well with a bit of luck. :D

Eric has done some nice work with those but I am leaving full judgement until I get my mini\'s and I can then judge them in the flesh :D
