Well, apart from that. I don\'t really go by genre. If a sculpt \'floats my boat\' I buy it. As I don\'t play with them I can get away with this:flip:

Personally I really like scifi minis, because I\'m a scifi fan in the first place. But when it comes down to painting, I prefer fantasy miniatures... The Warhammer 40K Tau I own look great, but painting those identical armour plates isn\'t as challenging as painting a Rackham Confrontation Barbarian for example...

Actually, I paint all three - and I have to agree with Finn about if the sculpt looks like something I want to paint, I get it.

Yes.. That\'s my answer.. I like Fantasy a bit more than SciFi, but then in SciFi you can do things like the Matrix poses or giant mechs. In things like WH40K, the line\'s a bit blurry between the two, just add or remove a gun!

I paint SciFi and Fantasy minis with a small tendency towards SciFi (but just a very small tendency, generally I go with finn\'s comment about the sculpt, if it appeals to me I paint it).

I mainly paint fantasy stuff, but I have been known to \'dabble\' in the other genres.

Recently, I came across a KONGZILLA kit that I will need to paint.

Also, since I just read a \'space marine\' novel, I am sorely tempted to start painted Tyranids. They look kinda of fun!

I, like Finn, also do not \'play the games\' but I keep meaning to. If I could ever focus myself to finish any one army!

I like it all too, though if asked to state a preference, I think Historicals are first , then Fantasy, and finally Sci Fi . . .

But for a counter example, SOME of the Sci Fi I like better than SOME of the Historicals I have so I\'m really all over the place . . .

I\'ve completed infinitely more Historicals than anything else . . Fantasy is prolly only around 100 figs . . . whereas Historical is upwards of 2000 . . .! But Fantasy has been about 90% of my most recent time and Sci fi has been .0001%

I sound like a convert eh? maybe . . .

My absolute fav pieces to work on are always the novel and new (ideas-wise), regardless of genre.
