What Kind of Resin?

Does anybody know what kind of resin Forge World have used for their Zone Mortalis boards (linky)? It's very lightweight and black. I believe that Games Workshop have used it for some other bits of terrain before they started off their plastic range (there was a dwarf hill with wall on and the Inquisitor terrain piece they did). I'm not even sure if it is technically a resin as it's quite soft and very prone to air bubbles.

Oh and before anyone asks - no I've not bought any, they're completely out of my price range which is why I'm seeing if I can make up some of my own

As far as I know GW use three types of resin:

Shit-Cast

Fine-Crap

And

Shitty-Fine-Crap-Tit-Cast

Apparently they are all coloured different and look like Swiss cheese.

Well, going to Smooth-On's website, it looks like all four of their black resins are urethanes. Everything else, or at least the ones I clicked, were epoxy resins.

Their ONYX stuff looks similar, and from the way I read it, is supposed to be rather rigid. Which would make sense for a gaming board. Least to me.

Easy tiger! I think you've actually missed what I was asking completely - I was talking about Forge World rather than asking for a GW flame fest

Cheers for that, a bit of investigation after your response and you're right, I think it is a urethane too - I've a feeling it's an expanding one to get reduce the weight (hence the bubbles in some of the finer detail).

I don't have my dwarf hill thing in front of me but I remember it being pretty darned light and kinda tough. I don't remember bubbles on mine or the one at the store.

Do you have any pics of the material in action with bubbles? That sentence reads really strangely to me for some reason.
