What RPG is your favorite?

Ok, in effort to get my post count up for no particular reason, I thought maybe I\'d throw up another useless poll.

Now, remember, since I can only have 10 entries, this thing is hardly a definitive dealio. Whatever.

For me, my RPG of choice (and starting to be mini-game of choice, next to WARMACHINE) is Savage Worlds.

My all time favourite is Mutant Cronichles becasue that was my first RPG I ever tried. Second comes a swedish RPG called \"Drakar och Demoner\" 6th edition, and third Warhammer Fantasy.

Btw, Astonia was my first charachter in Mutant Chronicles. She was an extremely stupid inquisitor lol

Wow... I\'d forgotten about Mutant Chronicles. That one was pretty good. Only got to play it a couple of times, though.

I also realize I forgot Shadowrun, which was another fave of mine.

Well that\'s a tough one. As D&D was the 1st RPG that I played and still play, I would say that that would be it. But I am currently playing in a Star Wars game and am loving that. So just to be unreasonable I am going to say both.

One game that I would love to play is Paranoia.

You know Anthony that we are going to need a favorite wargaming thread as well don\'t you!

Yeah, we played Shadowrun as well. Although the world was really cool, we found the rules to be a bit too complicated to get that fluency(?) in the role playing. I remeber being a rigger, that was cool, but I never really got how my drones really worked...

Wit hanother group I played Vampire in a modern Stockholm setting...that was Uber cool until two of the players broke up (with each other) and we couldn\'t continue

Well I have played mostly White wolf, But the best one that I played in was a Shadowrunner campaign.

So I would have to say that shadowrunner is my favourite (Can\'t remember if it\'s white wolf or not)

Are you thinking of Shadowrun? Cause If you are it was originally by FASA, and is now produced by Fanpro, at least I think thats the name.

Rifts (cause you get to play dragons!) and Werewolf the Apocalypse (for obvious reasons!) are my favorites. Recntly I have been playing in a Star Wars Campaign (that finished just before Christmas) which was fun because I got to play a Jedi Kushiban and we have just started a campaign of Fireborn which is shaping up quite nicely.

That fave wargaming one has been done several times, I think. Well, maybe not as a poll... ???

Besides, that\'s too close to the \"I hate GW\" thing (since we know it will evoke those responses), and I don\'t feel like drinking that heavily. lol

Renegade Legions

Simply the easiest and one of the most flexible systems out there. What a joy, it\'s all d10\'s.

For classic fantasy, it just has to be AD&D 2nd Ed, the 3rd Ed has lost something.

For the best game I ever had, it was in Warhammer Role Play. A snivelling git who was a shepherd for two reasons - easy access to a good time, and the sheep, they did shit on the shit so that the shit grew like shit. Yeah, he was permanently stoned.

I used to LOVE Paranoia. I\'ve seen that there\'s now Paranoia XP, but haven\'t really looked at it.

I was briefly allowed to look at it by the computer. But was then told that my security clearance was not high enough, and that I had to put it down.

@ Modderrhu: Oh man! Another classic! Renegade Legion stuff was great. The RPG was definitely fun, but I liked Centurion and Interceptor tons. Leviathan was pretty cool, too.

Well one game that just came to mind that did not make the list and I have heard was fun to play was MERP. Although The same pople that told me that it was fun also told me that the character creation was a pain in the ass.

I was also wanting to play Deadlands and Cthulhlu for awhile, but the DM that was going to run those moved out of the area. :flame:

I play D&D primarily. Cthulu is a great one though, many great games of that. All that redone traveller d20 jazz is cool lookin\'. I used to really dig the old game.

Also Paranoia was a fantastic game- it makes you laugh so hard, you cry. When everyone is racing around trying to figure out what/ who is your pal or enemy (and some both), completing any semblance of a mission is secondary- then try to BS the computer overlord you did something wiht your time is too much like real life now.lol

since its the most fun to dress up in costumes, drive up into the mountains with other people and act it all out!
ok no not really...i just get dressed up and go into the mountains trying to scare hikers... does that count?

D&D for me! I have a friend who\'s hobby it is to take 1st edition adventure modules and convert it to 3.5 and then use them to kill us...he does get some sick pleasure out of it, but it\'s a good time for all.

ok heres my point of view on that topic: i think all rpg\'s suck and people playing rpg\'s are total nerds
it might be my lack of interest in fantasy stuff or just my humongous manlyness but i find rpgs incredible boring.

I love GURPS. I have played; GURPS Horror,Cyberpunk,Vampire, Fantasy, and Illuminati.
I think the most fun I had was playing GURPS Thieves\' World. A friend of mine read all of the novels and was inspired to do a campaign. It was awesome.
