I\'ve heard that some of GW\'s line is going away...

Is there an official statement as to what is getting axed?

Yes somewhere, I\'ve read it in a WD or on their site I think. Lemme see if I can find it again, unless someone else finds it first.

The guy in my local store recently told me that Ghostly Grey, Brazen Brass and one of the very light blues were for the chop. Dunno what the others are.

But he was almost orgasmic at the thought of a new grey! No more mixing Codex Grey and black he said. Ooh... marvellous. Never mind a darker grey for lazy sods, what about a field grey? Something like that would handy.

Basically the new line will include a lot of cammo colors, for the new Imperial guard minis GW is releasing soon.

I have been told that Pallid flesh is on the way out as will either Regal or Storm blue as they are so close in colour.
One thing they have at last decided to sell Empty paintpots. (£0.50)

am i too late...

Am I too late in replying this?

Anyways, these are the paints that are going out:

leprous brown (sh*t! I luv this colour; good as a base for golden yellow hair)
vile green
bilious green
jade green
pallid flesh
ghost grey
imperial purple
beaten copper
lightning blue
nauseating blue
storm blue (sh*t! what blue is left?!)
smelly primer
green ink
sky blue ink
orange ink (how can they take out the inks!!!)

JJ (Jervis Johnson) sent me a reply saying that I should contact my local GW Retail Sales Rep and he could then tell me which paints are definitely going, which are being added (the couple in the pic in my other post are merely this months additions) and what else you need to know about storing and using the products.

So, I\'ll find out who my rep is and ask him said questions :)

I\'m lucky that a year or so ago I managed to buy out a store\'s inventory for next to nothing when the closed shop...even though I rarely used GW colors.

Really disappointed about the Imperial Purple and lightning Blue, but did manage to get 3 or 4 bottles of most of the inks. Not to mention around 20 bottles of Skull White!

That is sad news, I use pallid flesh a lot on my female minis. it\'s great to have such a light flesh tone, without adding white.

Cool ... Major score, particularly the inks and the white...very lucky!

Vincegamer re: \"If they get rid of this, what other brush on primer is there?\"

I\'ve never found a use for the smelly primer, I just spray primer everthing. What are you using it for?

If they did Smelly P in black and grey I\'d buy it definitely, but its been almost 6-10 years since anyone has undercoated anything in white, even their own staff no longer use it, so they should really move it up to the current trend of black. Shame to see the \'lil fella go tho, its a fantastic undercoating medium.

Not so sad

Well the only sad thing in this is the inks going, I think the GW inks are very good and better than the vallejo. For the rest I\'m pretty sure VAllejo or coat d\'arm has the equivalent of those colors, so not a big loss. And to answer your question about it being an official statement that\'s a yes. I read it in a white Dwarf and they had the list of the pots being removed.

Green ink gone?

I can\'t beleive they are getting rid of any of the inks, I hope they plan to replace them with something new.

I don\'t know what my orcs will do without thier green ink.

I may have to go Gygax on them and start painting them redish.

I don\'t know about VinceG but frequently I inadvertently rub off primer from minis and most often the bases while I\'m painting. So before I actually paint whatever part I touch up with the brush-on primer then put the color on over that.

But a brush-on is critical for me (not for over all priming but for touch ups).

But after all that, I have two big bottles of Polly S primer that I use - One is half full and the other I\'ve never opened so I\'m set for a while . . .

Usually I use it for touch-ups, but lately I have had to use it for everything since where I live we\'ve had about 10 days without rain this year so far, and none of those in a row.
