What\'s the most complicated mini you\'ve painted?

Cake or Death?
I just finished painting the WH 40K Throne of Judgment that I got for my birthday, and I can\'t believe that I actually did it. 8 separate pieces, and 40+ hours of work time to complete it...good grief.

Anyone want to share their most complicated mini story?

might not sound like much, but the one that annoyed me the most, was the gnobblar trapper I painted. The one in the bear trap. Little sod....

The Ork Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun us really detailed, although not as much as the Throne of Judgement, which I plan on plainting someday.

My homemade Battlewagon I\'ve just started to paint looks to be a killer as well, again, due to the level of detail.

The most complicated mini I\'ve ever painted was a FW Warmammoth. The actual painting was pretty straight forward, the complicated part was figuring out where I could put my hands so they wouldn\'t end up perforated. It\'s one spiky beast and it weighs a ton.

Assembly wise it was the Skaven Vermin Lord. I still have nightmares about that one.

Painting wise its this one -

Trying to get his belly just right is driving me absolutely nuts. And I\'m only using 3 colors.

Both of these were a pain to assemble, but I still haven\'t gotten around to painting them. The old Blood Bowl Scorpion (there was a White Dwarf that introduced monsters to Elves Dwarves and Dungeonbowl). It had 3 sets of two legs that had to get glued under the body and they just didn\'t want to fit, moving them caused them to break. In the end I actually paid my local Wierd Pete to assemble the damn thing.

The second worse one was the RT erra Ork Dreadnaught. This one still has the banner pole and the weapons break off whenever I try to transport it.

When I used to collect my Chaos Army I remember when EGRIMM VAN HORSTMANN came out, omg he looked so cool I had to buy him, didn\'t realise how big it was, how much detail was involved and how long it would take to paint, and being 14 at the time I didn\'t spend the time he deserved. But it\'s still the hardest mini I painted.

Hmmm.
If we\'re talking assembly, the Dark Eldar Ravager gun ship is a nightmare! Those pieces were never meant to go together.

Painting?
I don\'t know, but the FW chaos magus guy for 40 was tough. Lots of nooks and crannies, and pipes, and skin, and cloak, and doodads, and whot nots.
:duh:

Yeah I second the comment on the gnoblar stuck in the bear trap. While it may not be the most complicated mini I have painted it was certainly a *@#*# to put together. It looks oh so simple but trying to align those little gnoblar legs up with trap was one of the more frustrating things I have done. Being such a small mini that looks straight forward sucks you in then you get a big ole sting in the tail for your troubles.
The most complicated mini that I have assembled and painted would have to be an Ork Killa Kan. It may not sound like a complicated mini but the one I bought certainly was not meant to go together. Nothing fit where it should. Parts were warped and I had to pretty much resculpt the thingy as I was going.

40k Original Daemon prince - all metal, and you need BIG meaty pins to hold those chunky bits (Plus, it\'s covered in spikes and horns) :cussing:

I\'m currently putting together a skaven screaming bell. No two parts fit. I\'ve had to applly a fair bit of pressure and squash one half of the bell so the two halves join up. Also, I had to file and scrape away parts so the uprights slot into place but they syill don\'t align with each other. There\'s going to have to be a bit of reconstruction. The painting\'s going to have to be done before it\'s all glued together as it\'d be a nightmare to paint when it\'s in one piece.

Yeah I thought that one (verminlord) would be easy but I remember it being a pain in the backside as well.
The most complicated for me was the GW hydra. Not that difficult to paint but an absolute beggar to put together; elastic bands, pins, superglue, head falling off, araldite, head falling off...
