What\'s the one toy you wanted as a kid but never got?

The Flagg definately existed. I know one family that had one. The kid that got it used to sleep on the thing it was so big.

Of course the ones that got it were the grandkids of Moe Campbell, who owned the largest Ford Delership south of Toronto. They were, well I guess are, cousins of my cousin. I got to see the Flagg once, but I wasn\'t aloud to play with it. Spoild brats!

Thinking of Star Wars Toys, what I regret the most is selling all the ones I did have. I would have loved to have them all set up now, with the Falcon hanging from the Cieling over my painting table. Well at least I got good money for them, I even had the uber rare Jawa With Plastic Cape, made over $500 on him.

Wow, you know, I had a friend that lived across the street. He was a only child, and both of his parents with professionals (not sure what, but). This lad had complete sets of everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. Joes, He-man, Star Wars, Transformers, video games. The basement was his with a playroom that was 10x20 easy. Well the point is, I wonder what ever happen to all those toys, cause I bet you that in the shape that they were in the last I saw them (oh 25+ years ago(Has it really been that long :(:p )) He is sitting on a small fortune.

I remember Mr. Frosty! I wanted one too!

In fairness to my folks, I really didn\'t want for much as a kid that I\'m still burning for now. Must have pestered my parents to death over some things (like a pony, for example), tho! lol

A toy that really made an impact on me as a kid was, ahem, My Little Pony. Now there\'s shame for you! I even owned Dream Castle- thought it was the coolest thing ever! Later on, my uncle made me a huge wooden castle- it\'s still in the attic back home. It was used as a battleground for assorted knights, random figures and gerbils. No idea how I ended up like I did! ???

I recall one Christmas, when I was about 8-9. I was very intrigued by Bigfoot. The hairy ape-man, not the 4x4 truck. Damn you Leonard Nemoy and your IN SEARCH OF show....

Anyhow, there was even a song on the radio about bigfoot. And i was constantly thinking about the creature...hoping I\'d see one everytime we drove by a grove of trees.

So somehow I got it in my head that one of my gifts was a bigfoot doll (I didn\'t even know if that toy existed, but was convinced it was one of them).

It got to be Christmas Eve, and the wait was killing me. We were always allowed to open up one gift on Christmas eve, so it was a no-brainer which one I chose.

I ripped it open and lo and behold, it was a die cast John Deere toy tractor. My dad worked at John Deere, and it was a special promo just for the employees to buy.

I\'m sure I hid my disappointment as well as any 9 year old could. :(

that\'s just wrong on so many levels. :(

Only folk that might have gotten hurt were the neighbors but they\'ve made it thus far so I think they are safe.

NSA I had the millenium falcon and funny enough it was from a garage sale and all it did was take up room.

Best Christmas ever: My big present on the day itself - AT-AT

A few days later we drive up to my grand parents house in the Lake District and what do I get? Milenium Falcon.

That is the stuff of which dreams are made when you\'re 8. I was bouncing round for days :D

That was also the last propper surprise present I ever got as after that I started looking for hidden presents which spoiled it all really, I wish I hadn\'t.

The one that got away: Snake eyes from GI Joe (Action Force over here), I wanted one so badly that I tried to make my own out of pipecleaners. I\'d already been bought a toy earlier in the day so when I saw one in another shop my dad wouldn\'t get it for me. That was the first and last time I ever saw one..... gutted

I never got an original Optimus Prime which is probably the other one that really sticks in my memory. I also wanted a Ravage but after seeing it in the flesh I was very disappointed as it was a bit crap. He was soooo much cooler in the comic.

I had a kitten but my friggin arsehat neighbors liked it and started leaving saucers of milk out for it and drawing it to their property while I was at school, after a week of sneaking they ran it over with their car. then sent their kids over who laughed as they told me how far it shot out once the tire was over it. Bastards even burried it.

Poor thing. Both you and the kitty. Want a hug? I\'ll give you a hug and a kiss on the way to the shrinks. Poor thing. :(

When I was in grade school this woman opened a kid\'s clothing shop on the corner near school. (Which she named Tickle You Under There after a kid\'s rhyme or song or something, but I don\'t think you could get away with naming a kid\'s store that today!) I never cared about the clothes, they were all covered in rivets and patches and very overdone. But she had an antique Stieff teddy bear, with poseable arms, legs and head. He was old, and most of his fur was worn off, but he wasn\'t just a bear. He was a bear with the coolest stuff ever. He had trunks of clothes and toys and accessories, every few months she\'d redo the window with the bear and some of his cool things in a different vignette.

When I was 10 or 11 or so, I had a bit of money around the Easter holiday from grandparents and such, and I bought a little 6\" mini Stieff bear to have one of my own. I don\'t remember what it cost, but if it was proportional to what they cost now, it was a bit of money. My mom freaked out and made me return it to the store. I ended up spending the money on a pile of silly and poorly made trinkets in a store down in China town. And I was always a little bitter and confused about the whole thing since it had been my own money and the bear would have lasted longer and had more meaning.

Years later, my mom admitted the same thing. She apologized for being cranky and illogical and gave me a gift of a little Stieff bear. And I kind of wonder if my interest in the bear with his camping kit and safari gear and so on was one thread of what would become an interest in minis, and maybe I wouldn\'t be interested in them now if I\'d had the bear when I was young. (Or if I\'d had the real cool dollhouse I used to dream of sometimes. I had a dollhouse, but not one with china hutches and working lights and all the elaborate stuff they make for dollhouses.)

The large (12\") Boba Fett action figure.

http://web.ncf.ca/cn333/largebobafett.htm

A kid down the street had him and I was hooked! Lucky bastard...

I also wanted the original Death Star toy set, mainly because it had the trash compactor full of little bits of foam that you could hide the Trash Monster in. Loads of fun!

I was always intrigued by the \"Grow Your Own Crystals\" set, but I don\'t think I ever got one.

when i was a kid, at one point i wanted the thunderbirds tracy island, man that was awesome and for ageeeeeeeees my mum couldn\'t get it, she even tried building me one but it just didnt work.

Luckily some time l8r i got one, and my thunderbirds had heir home again. I was fixated by that island, many good times.

Though i cant remember many other toys i desperately wanted. I was quite lucky in getting the ones i wanted for xmas and birthdays. I loved biker mice but was devastated when vinnie\'s bike broke (the original version) and it was OOP:no:

Though i ws never allowed to get a lightsaber toy, always wanted one. that and a bb gun, though when i got that i got it confiscated as well :~( bad times

Silly part was I never got a bb gun -

Got a shot gun but not a bb gun.

I even got a .22 rifle as a wedding present the first time I got married but still no bb gun.

Guess I\'ll have to break down and buy it myself one of these days.lol

Easy Bake Oven. Every Christmas it made my list. And every year, a little boy was disappointed he didn\'t get one. Until he was big enough to read the instructions on the cake mix! Boy was Mom surprised to come home to half a cake and two very-not-hungry boys.

And I\'ve got part of my Optimus Prime. Specifically, just the trailer. Step-mother decided that they needed storage, so she\'d just throw away all these toys that he doesn\'t need anymore. I still miss my teddy!

*grrr* :flame: Sorry, getting angry again. You wouldn\'t like me when I\'m angry.

^^ This is why step-mothers are stereotyped as evil.

I actually had Optimus Prime. There was drama as my little brother promptly (as in, the next day) tried to grab him away from me and broke his leg off. My parents, presumably eager to avoid a fratricide, bought me another.
