What\'s your workspace like?

@freakinacage - try this (I\'ve done it in the past but had to shed my plywood for shelves currently) - get a couple of sheets of plywood (4 ft x 8 ft or whatever that is in meters - sorry blind American here when it comes to that metric stuff) of a pretty good thickness (I use 3/4 inch but hell l\'m a good chunk of geek) and put them down under your painting area - It defines your workspace and if you paint it a light color makes it easier to find anything you drop - and if you put some plastic sheeting under the plywood it helps keep the floor clean

GW Paintstation

Or whatever it\'s called. That\'s a very handy piece of kit for quick-jobs or as a temporary set-up. As I used to work on several jobs at once I found them useful as \'project trays\' as well, making swapping from one job to another very quick and easy.:bouncy:

Ok! the router joke is wearing a bit thin :D

- but

the number of mags available in Smiths for SF/Sci-fi Minis v routers (or woodworking in general) gives a very good indication of the relative popularity of the two hobbies.
A review of model related mags would be a bit more heartening, if you include wargames mags, ship and train models you are looking at a significant market segement.

The trouble is that the number of people interested in the type of mini shown on CMON is limited (CMON itself has less than 6000 members worldwide!) and an awful lot of them will be catered for by GW. - CMON related modeling is pretty much a niche market which, trespassing into another thread, makes the advent of Harbinger exiting - if only to give you something else to look at when in Smiths.

Another thing - which I nearly forgot - is that the size of the newspaper shop is relevant to the range of mags they stock. The really big ones at airports major rail terminals stock a lot of modelling mags from the US which I doubt you will get access to in Kernow!

Don\'t be ashamed of that!! a) with the desktop vice clamp you\'ve got something I\'ve always wished I had in my workspace. B) Without that, the photo just reminds me of my workspace, altho yours is a bit messier.

Many WIP\'s on that desk.

I am able to do most of my painting away from the desk (mostly when I\'m at work!!)

Do I get the prize for the messiest desk??

You got mine...

You will need to have the picture already posted somewhere however, as this is only a link, not an upload.:flip:

Well I think most of us has taken over the kitchen table. Mine is small, but I try to squeeze in as much as possible.

Notice the wet palette half on the table.
I think I need a bigger table. lol.

The back shot.

And this is what happens when you run out of table space. You convert your shoe rack to hold minis. :D

Good ole thread revival!

Blame Finn ;) I had intended to post this long ago. Complete with tonnes of finished and unfinished models, Compressor, lots of drawers for paint, tools, bits... 300 watts of lighting and original sculpts. Just what is Garyo going to do with all those Zenzillas? Hmmmm ???
