What\'s your workspace like?

Arrf, I wish I could have a workspace with mini's and various debris scattered all over the place! This i what my desk looks like.

No one could ever tell it's a place where mini's are painted! Someone seeing it might think "aa, good chap, brought his lunch box, got his snuff. A towel presumably for wiping his mouth. A nondescript cardboard box that could contain any number of usefull day-to-day items. Overall a pretty common desk".

But then! "Oh my gosh! What's this?? It's not a lunch box! It's a... Wet palette? Why would anyone... Wait, what's that? Bottles of paint, a drawer with knives and stuff. What the hell is going on here?! Brushes?!?! Painting? Pretty pictures mayhap? That's sort of ok, I guess. But hey, what's in the none descript cardboard box? Mini's! Oh my god, this desk is used to paint mini's!! I need a shower! Now! So... filthy *sobbing*"

It's my dirty little secret:p

*casts Threadomancy* It's alive, ALIVE!

I figured it would be better to post in this existing thread than to start a new one.

I tidied up my workspace because I built 2 new paint racks to replace the small one that my collection of paints quickly outgrew. Now I've got plenty of space for the future!

I paint my thumb.
I come back just in time for the revival of the workspace thread, that's a sign I tell ya!

I have to participate.
Had to reduce my instalations a bit, to make some room for the incoming new family memeber :)
So I removed some horizontally and added some vertically.

Been gone for two years. The wife used the room mine was in for storage. Have to dig it out and reorganize.

Amateur, nothing like a proper work area you still have space left on those shelves.
only because the top shelf is my ready to paint sections and has been moved downstairs as it's too big atm. and the bottom shelf is where i rest my feet when they aren't on the end of the middle shelf!

i daren't show pictures of where i paint as it's a disgrace there have been many desks over the years each usually ending up stained by a spillied pot of blood red paint....it's always the blood red paint that spills but having not really done much in years and downsizing the GW collections (lots of orks and bretonnians to go on ebay soon) i'm down to a few boxes here and there of bits one for paints another for clockwork bits (currently doing some steampunky stuff) a huge crate filled with sisters of battle and a few boxes of glues spare parts and some untouched minis and one with the current project in all blue tacked to the tops of empty paint bottles...as for where i paint it's currently on the bed as i've no desk to really sit at which now means the bed sheets are currently covered in super glue some green (a first for me ) paint stains and blood stains (actual blood i skimmed my knee tripping over a curb drunk while walking home new year's eve)

maybe one day when i've sorted a more permenant cubby hole for hobbying i'll post some pics...and hopefully without any blood or blood red paint stains

Hey, blood and colour stains are supposed to be there! I've lost count of the times I've had to sand and polish the table just to get rid of paint, glue and other, less identifiable stains! Oh, and I need to find a new table soon as well, the one I've got now is too full of hack marks and I'm running out of table edges because of this...

Indeed it is a working fireplace! I don't use it at the moment however, since there's a secondary heating system in the house, and also I'd probably set myself on fire by accident :) . Everything is a bit squished together because space is limited. It's a small house with no basement or attic so we have lots of shelving. It's a little like being on a small boat. The other half of this room has a second drafting table and computer (my roommates setup, he works on comics and illustration) and is our studio room. I'd really like to get a third drafting table to setup for use as my drawing table, but we'll have to rearrange a bit for that. For the moment for drawing, I sit at my computer and I'm improvising with various temporary boards. It works but can be distracting so close to computer :)

It's an awesome setup Mini! And your room mate is in to comics...Ahhhhh geeky win!
On a harder line, I feel more ashamed seeing Tims setup knowing he sometimes shoots me from that shithole before I can switch sides in BC2 =( Not that my shithole is much better, but I manage to stay alive longer and I can fly a choppah! I think it was Tim I was with on an epic tank busting sortie actually...
