What software is need to crop images to create custom heros

Hello All,

I am really interested in creating my own hero for zombicide, but i have never created one and unsure how to crop an image and put it onto zombicide stat card.

Can someone help me out as im a complete noob at this!

If you have Microsoft office, maybe simply power point with the removing background option... I agree it is a bit dirty but depending on the picture background it can be efficient, then in powerpoint you import your card and stick your hero.
If you have more patience just go to Gimp, free photo editing software and cut out with selection tool your hero picture, then paste it on your card.

The text can also be done with power point or with Gimp, both OK. Just insert text function, you can select your font and size.. just go on!

Photoshop and Illustrator are pretty much standard. There's two ways:
Easy way is to ask someone who's done a custom character for a blank one.
Hard way- (and this way REALLY sucks) put images on multiple layers and cut the blank pieces out to make a clean slate. This will take a lot of time, but can be done- I did this method years ago to make custom Magic: the gathering cards. Hope this helps!
