What Stark units should you buy after getting the starter set?

If you just got the starter set and have rallied under the Stark Banner, check out On The Table Gaming's thoughts on what you should purchase when looking to expand your forces.

What units do you think are essential for a new player to get or, if you backed the Kickstarter, what units are you planning on doubling up on? Has anyone tried running double Starkbowmen lists with some high morale troops to help mitigate friendly fire damage from shooting into combat?

I am a big fan of the Longbowmen and have two units of them! Other than that I think Tully Sworn Shields would be indispensable for holding objectives (try sticking Rob Stark in with them!)

In 40+ point lists I deploy one on my left flank and one on my right flank within striking range of objective counters and/or enemies there that try to flank me. Basically, they provide cover and threaten any enemy that wish to flank me or grab objectives in those areas. They will back up any of my units in the center of the table that will take control of the center of the table. I'll have one unit of outriders that can run out to support any of my longbowmen that need help, or get into the fray mid to late game over some objectives. My core heavy hitters such as Berzerkers and Sworn Shields and/or Sworn Swords will go for objectives and fight enemy under a hail of arrows.

Ideally I'd have the following in a 50 point game:

2 x Longbowmen
1 x Outriders
1 x Berzerkers
1 x Sworn Swords
1 x Sworn Shields

2 NCU plus attachments

In 40 points I will likely take Howland Reed as my commander and have one additional NCU (two total including Howland) plus remove either the SSword or SShields, depending on the mission.

So far, I have not found removing one of my Sworn units in order to keep both units of bowmen to be of any detriment but I'm sure a crafty opponent that expects them will find some way and thus, keep it interesting! LOL

I will second archers here! I run 2 in my more competitive lists as well. They are great in the mirror match against dire wolves. The ability to ignore terrain and intervening units for line of sight purposes makes them really good at supporting sworn shields as suggested above
