Anyone else think these SUCK?

They look like cheap alien monsters you\'d get in a board game...

The new plastic dwarfs look good, especially the thunderers are better than the metal ones ( which were ok but there were only about 6 different types, so making units looked silly - \"haven\'t I seen you somewhere before soldier?\")

The whole point of tau is a giant multi race empire. i think they need more than one race under them but i agree these do look pretty goofy for 40k. I always wanted the kroot to start a rebellion so they could really be their own army with unique heavy weapons and stuff. Then those who want kroot in their tau army could call them Loyalist Kroot or something like that.

I agree with Trevor, these look so dumb. They look like cartoon characters. So out of place...
I like Chaplian Grimaldus and retinue. The dude with the aguilla thing is cool lookin. Kind of a cool idea.

I thought I saw a Kroot armiy list somewhere years ago. I can\'t remember where though. Maybe a fan site.

Weren\'t the Vespid one of Griffin miniature model to accompany the greys?

It is good that the Tau are getting other races. They should like the America or Canada of space. Lots of different beings making up a whole. Maybe a comic melting pot. Or mosaic as the Canadians call it.lol

hm. they look very stupid on that picture for 40k, can only hope they look better IRL.

But I might like them for another universe, got an old school feeling to them.

Well I think they are kinda interesting. I think the sculpts are not the best. I like parts of them and dislike other parts. The heads could be better. :D

yeah, the only troublle i found with these guys when i saw them at gamesday was

1. The poses are static, look like the old timey space marines in the same pose.

2. The heads are too small, making them look out of proportion and cartooney, the rest of them is technically well sculpted, the leg and wing designs are pretty cool, i\'d second that old school remark though.

I saw that pic at games day, they\'re truly terrible GW seem to have gone back 20 years to what science fiction used to be

I think there are two separate discussions here - the quality of the sculpt and what the figure actually looks like:

I think the sculpting quality is very high - the features are well defined and there is also a good amount of detail - you can\'t quite see in the pics but these guys actually have six eyes.

Ok, onto the pose and overall look of the models. Like most other people have said, this is not great. They are flyers, yet all the versions I have seen are static, standing poses. Even simply a running pose would be nice, they supposedly have the \'Fleet of ...\" special rule after all.

Overall, I think they\'re reasonable models, a bit of conversion work and repositioning should see them right. If they have some decent rules, I\'ll probably add some to my Tau force. But the thing I\'m really looking forward to are the new plastic stealth suits

They\'re crap.

Utter bilge. The concept artist should be shot. GW really do have issues if they\'re letting shite like this through....

As for the BT marines looking good - they buggering well should do. They\'ve had enough practice churning them out. That High Marshall fig is still not up to much.
