generally I get the feeling of toys made for kids by them, and that\'s not a good thing.

I never thought much of the Tau in general and would never buy any as for these so called Allies well they can go down as another of GW\'s failures as far as I am concerned and take the Necrons and Tau with them I for one will not miss them.

It seems to be GW all over at teh moment even some of the new Wood Elves are not up to that much and the casting/detail of them are not up to the usual standard you would expect from GW or is it just me being more picky ???

GW should try paying their sculptors.

Hey, you know what they remind me of? A Dr Who alien, yep, they look just like a guy dressed up in a rubber suit, actually scratch that, Dr Who monsters were more realistic, this is a fan in fancy dress as a Dr Who monster.

Glad I solved that. :D

i took a second look at the larger pci before reading your post (saw em about am onth ago) and they... they look very simlar to the old tyranids... the legs the arms and hands hell even the tail peeping between the legs... and whats with the slit down the face? lol

Tau do need help, but in hand to hand, not shooting, although those weapons are rumored to be S2 AP2, but I\'m not sure how useful that\'ll be...okay I can kill a marine outright, but I\'ve gotta be damned lucky to wound his ass!

what they should really work on is the broken rules to that game, until they fix that, my Tau army is still up for sale

They seem to be lacking something crucial... perhaps the fluff and story will make sense, but when I see them I don\'t think they should be holding guns. They look decidedly aquatic, but they have those really wierd wings that look like they have vents - the whole thing really bothers me aesthetically. Then they have three clawed hands, but they hold a normal looking rifle? They look like some wierd flying tyranid crab humanoid hybrid, and I just have trouble trying to picture these guys next to devilfishes, fire warriors and crisis suits. Even next to Kroot, I can\'t picture it.

Basically... what do these guys do, that some Tau soldier with a jump pack and the same gun couldn\'t? Why can\'t they stick this gun on a fire warrior or a crisis suit?

Soldier: \"We\'re going to be fighting against the human marines, right? Can I have one of those new guns, you know, the ones the vespids have been using to tear through their armor?\"
Ethereal: \"No.\"
Soldier: \"Why not? It would make perfect sense. It\'s a gun, I can use guns!\"
Ethereal: \"It\'s for the greater profit. Uh, I mean, the greater good.\"
Soldier: \"Ah!\"

Well the Tau are a group of different races. So it is very feasible. Even if they aren\'t anatomically to your liking.

Not to mention, I don\'t know any military who would give a soldier a special gun just because the soldier liked it. Some are more adept at doing things than others.

The Kroot are hand to hand. Maybe these guys are like scouts or assault marines.

In fact ti would show GW still had a sence of hawhaw if they did that. Maybe a Cerebus army wouldn\'t infringe on ALF territory.
