hi, i have been using toilet roll to clean my brushes on for my lengthy time in this hobby, 1 year, i used it simply because it is a plently at my house and my mum buys it. but recently since she changed brand or something the roll has been falling apart very quickly and easily, and small bits are getting stuck to my fingers and then on my models, which is very annoying.

so what do you guys use to clean your brushed? i feel like a change

thanks, paul

I use bit of cotton cloth (probably from an old bed sheet or something similar). Works well, and doesn\'t give off any fibres or stuff that can stick to the miniature.

Since being blessed with a youngling I have found out that most of the worlds ills can be solved by babywipes.

edit: If you use them to clean brushes I\'d let them dry out first lol

1.take your brush
2.put it into your mouth
3.lick off excess paint
4.roll around on tongue
5.pull out brush with fine tip and wetted for your painting enjoyment.

@ritual: i am ashamed of you!!! you\'re brushlickers platinum card may be taken away. Your case is now under review.

*scoffs* cotton cloth.

Brush-licking is not a cleaning tool, it\'s a painting tool! It\'s used to control the moisture of the brush when painting or to quickly increase the dilution of paint already on the brush.

A fine tool like that should not be used for something so lowly as cleaning! It\'s like wearing a tux when mowing your lawn!

well brush licking sounds fun, i only ever put lick the brush when there isn\'t paint on it, i am yet to be daring enough to take the plunge, what does it taste like?

and there is no finer way to spend a sunday!

i clean mine with a dip in water, run it over a sponge soaked in washing up liquid and then dip again. i then lick the brush to form a point

I second the coffee filter. Since the TAB Studios video, I have become a coffee filter addict! (Though i occassionally lick the brush when i fine point is needed)

Inadvertantlyy it seems to be whatever i\'m wearing at the time...

Lick the brush...I know you\'re curious, and I know you want to. It makes you a better painter. You should see Rituals stuff before he started licking brushes, utter shite lol

Evil; it tastes like evil.

Stay away from the darkside: don\'t lick your brushes when they\'re loaded with paint.

If you\'re talking about removing excess paint before applying it to a mini, I use the back of my thumb.

For outright cleaning, I use a container of water.
