What to do for a painting Class?

Howdy

Well... it dawned on me (after subscribing to this thread a few days ago) that I should actually comment instead of just voting, so you get a \'feel\' for the people interested.

I am interested - lol.

I voted NMM, but to be honest, your skills are what I am interested in, so any style, figure etc, whould be fine. (and I don\'t think I am off by much if I say MANY folks feel the same...) So count me in regardless of what strikes your muse to teach.

I do a lot of painting of just basic troops. Boring plodding archers, spearmen, and orcs. I would be interested in seeing some of those painted by a pro trying to make them better than what they are.

I made my choice already, but the majority seems to be for a step-by-step.
If you do that, I would ask for a figure with hair. That elf is a good choice.

My vote would not be for the reaper figure to be honest. Apart from being tough to get hold of, they don\'t suit me at all (thats my selfish moment). Plus, if it comes on a brocolli base, it will just get thrown at the wall and not painted at all!

How about one of the new GW elves? There must be a female one with hair and a sword or something! And lets be honest it would be relatively easy to get hold of.

I know its a bit of a pixellated picture, but how about one of these?

I actually haven\'t chosen yet, although I had been thinking about one of the wood elf characters perhaps. I actually really like the lord with greatweapon (even though not a female), or the female spellweaver with staff above her head. The only problem is that I don\'t know if they\'ll be easy to get in a month.

Still open to suggestions however :)

EDIT: I mean make tutorial about painting whole figure, but explain deatils of painting hair ;)

How about GW Bretonnian Damsel, she\'s got a ton of hair, a crystal on her staff, but not much in the way of metal though....

I put the mini away and don\'t paint it! Why make my life harder by spending time nibbling away with cutters to get rid of it! (Don\'t have a Dremel).

I\'d like to learn some Trompe L\'Oeil techniques to use on miniatures like structure, texture, depth and material illusions, moreover how to make those ultra realistic fredy-style bases and last but not least how to do a nice wet-blending rightly. Voted for \"other\".

This thread went quiet all of a sudden. I would like to see a step by step with a GW mini. Not sure how readily I can get other types as every thing I get I have to get thru mail order and I know I can get GW within a week.

ok, I am going to have a mini decided upon by the 15th, I have a few I\'m mulling over. Not much in the GW range really inspires me, but I understand the benefit of those minis. So I want to make up my mind and have something chosen a few weeks ahead of time so that people who want to participate, can have time to get ahold of the mini :)

And lets not forget that some nice folks can help purchase and forward minis depending on country etc. If someone has trouble finding the figure Eric picks, let me know and my secret orginization of green ninjas might be able to help - hahaha. Paying a tad bit more for shipping might be worth getting a figure instead of none at all lol. (jimbob1066e@msn.com if it comes to that).

Come a bit late to this but...

Much as I hate suggesting/agreeing with anything that adds to GW wealth, I too would like to see a GW mini chosen. Everyone can get GW minis.
